Hello my quilting and embroidery friends!
I hope you had a nice Labor Day holiday. Ours was filled with cooking and grandkids! My hubby got a new smoker and he made some awesome ribs and smoked turkey breast and I made the fixin’s!! The grands helped me make dessert – and Ice Cream Smore’s Pie! It was pretty yummy and they had fun helping!
As you may know, I finished adding all the designs back to the website! Yeah!! I have been busy doing some digitizing and piecing blocks for my guild exchange and my sewing group. Our guild does a monthly block exchange and since we do not meet in August, we had two blocks that are due this month. The idea is to make two (or more) of the same blocks each month and keep one for ourselves so that at the end of the year, we will have 12 blocks to make a quilt for us or for charity. Here are my blocks:
I love batiks! The block on the right, the friendship star block is made from a chart pack sent with a Craftsy order. They have now started their own line of fabric from what I understand. It was a nice gift. The churn dash block includes some of my favorite colors!
And now to the continuing pink and orange challenge! The blocks at the top of the blog are my challenge blocks for August. The pieced block was my first try at partial seams! It was not as difficult as I had thought it might be. So, if there is a challenge in your future, whether in a sewing group or a technique you haven’t tried before – just go for it. Maybe you’ll be pleasantly surprised as I was!
Now on to embroidery! My grand opening sale will be ending Sunday evening. So take advantage of 30% off the entire store until then. Don’t forget to create a new account and sign up to receive notification of new designs and the latest blog! Until then…
Have a day blessed with perfect stitches!
Brenda
