It’s Thursday on the Gremlins, Goblins, and Ghouls Blog Hop…

And it’s my day to share!!! Welcome!! While I don’t do scary, spooky-ooky Halloween, I do enjoy the colors of Halloween – the purples, greens, and black – and fall, as well as Harvest, pumpkins, cats, bats, and the occasional Casper the Friendly Ghost! LOL I do enjoy participating with the ladies in their blog hops when I can! So this month, Joan of Moosestash Quilting is our host for the Gremlins, Goblins, and Ghouls, Oh My Blog Hop! Thank you Joan for hosting. I enjoy seeing all the fall creations everyone has made.

While thinking about what I wanted to make for this hop, I thought about a couple of recent pattern purchases I had made. I lately have craved making pincushions! Is that nuts??!! Oh well, a little deviation from what I do most every day, and one of these is definitely a little squirrel! So here is my first project…a Harvest pin cushion!

This is a fun Pumpkin Pie Pincushion pattern from Pine Mountain Designs. I am not affiliated with them, but I just fell in love with their pie pincushion patterns and purchased a few of them! Hopefully I will get to make them all! Disclaimer: The embroidery in this pattern is typically done by hand, but I chose to digitize the designs and do them on my embroidery machine. This was a fun and pretty quick project to make. In hindsight, I think I would have used a darker embroidery thread on the “Gather” wording, and maybe even the “Pumpkin” wording, but I am pleased with how it turned out.

My second project was definitely a squirrel. Well, the project itself is another little tiny pincushion and not a squirrel, but an owl!! Isn’t it cute??!!!

I just love this little guy with his googly eyes and cute flower pin. This was a very quick little project to make. This pattern is by Sewn Wyoming. (No affiliation) They have kits for the eyes and beak but I chose to use the googly eyes. I loved sewing him up in this cute purple and orange fabric! Next time, I will use a little more ground walnut shells to fill him out better. This little guy is only about two inches tall! He will probably sit on top of my machine and supervise all my stitching as he’s just too cute to stick pins in! LOL

I thank Island Batik for the fabric I used in making these, as all of it is left over scraps of different collections from my Island Batik projects!

I will share one of my patterns I created for this blog hop a few years ago. I had a lot of fun with this one too. The pattern is available for purchase in my shop here.

And here’s one last quilt I had a lot of fun making! I’ve not written a pattern for this one yet.

Monkeys, Snails, and Kitty Cat Tails!

You are just so creative! The pieced pumpkin pin cushion is such a great idea for this holiday. And that cute little owl. Oh my! But your Monkey, snails and kitty cat tails really takes the cake! I love the geometric design with its symmetry and bright colors. So amazing!

Your quilts and pin cushions are adorable! I love the embroidery work. Your little owl is definitely to cute to stick pins in! He will make a great supervisor of future stitching projects.

Good morning Brenda, When I spied that sweet pumpkin pie pinnie, my little heart did a major flip flop. It is definitely the “cat’s meow”. I’m a pincushion fan, and these two little ones are captivating. When i had a second look at the owl, I realized that he would make a superb hanging ornament, maybe he could hang out in the sewing room until Christmas, as I don’t have a Hallowe’en tree. The Boo Crew and the Hallowe’en snails and cats make for a very complete presentation. Thanks, I loved my visit

Aaah what a fun post with darling Halloween eye candy. I love your little pin cushions. It is hard to resist a good pie and the owl just brings a smile to my day. And how cute is that John Deere tractor. Thank you for sharing and inspiring. Happy Halloween.
