Your Monday is not going to be like Saturday; the emotions are going to be different.”
― Jean Grae

I can say this is true today!! We had the grandloves Friday night and until late afternoon on Saturday, so definitely different emotions and happenings!!!
We were (kind of) surprised to wake up to this on Tuesday morning!! (Usually they say it will happen and it doesn’t pan out.) And, it didn’t all melt until Thursday around noon. There was a lot of ice. Entrances to a couple of subdivisions nearby were blocked by police because of the ice. We just did not try to get down the hill to go out. Thankfully we didn’t have to as school was closed until Thursday so didn’t have to get out and pick up the girlie! Now, I would really appreciate it if those of you who live in this all winter would come get your weather out of my backyard! LOL

One good thing in this, we didn’t lose power so I could sew! I actually did some quilting and designing and sewing! It was a fun week! Let’s check the progress on my to do list!
Plans for the week of 1/15 – 1/21-24:
- Work on IB catalog quilt. DONE!! It’s ready to go to California to the Island Batik warehouse for photographing for the next catalog!! I can at least show you the label and the backing! I love this backing fabric. It is called Foxglove by Island Batik. You’ll have to wait a few months to see the front of this quilt!

- Island Batik unboxing video. DONE!! You can see that HERE.
- Work on next round of SAHRR. DONE!! See my next post for the next round!
- At least look at the baby quilt fabric and maybe start designing it with the shirts I have been given. DONE!! Looked at it but still thinking about the design.
- Whatever else suits my fancy!! DONE!! I worked on my February Island Batk Blog Hop project! Here is one of the test blocks I did. I used scraps to test this (don’t faint!!) foundation paper piecing block!! Y’all know it’s not my favorite thing to do and thankfully they are not ALL FPP blocks!!! LOL

For the week of 1/24/23 – 1/28/23 my plans are:
- Continue working on Feb IB project.
- There are a lot of blocks to this project, so I may not get to anything else, but if I do, it will be the baby quilt!!
- Whatever suits my fancy, but try to avoid squirrels as there is NO time for them right now!!
Here is a recap of our quilty friends’ linkups from last week!
Now it’s your turn to link up. Let us see what you’re working on!
Thanks for your visit and joining in the fun today. I’ll be joining in my favorite linky parties as they come open -> those over in the side bar!! Until next time…

I have too much of northern Michigan weather already, having gotten 8-10 inches of snow in one weekend, so I won’t be coming to get more. But I sure hope your ice is gone by now – that’s a pain (and dangerous) to deal with. Your “batisket” is super cute!
Hi Brenda! I’d be willing to come and collect that bad weather down in your parts. It really does belong up here . . . we don’t let a little snow or cold keep us down. Heck, 50 is still summer weather up here – we don’t bundle up like those Dallas Cowboy folks. I’m thrilled that you had so much time with your grandloves!! You get to go to California to the IB Warehouse????!!!!! Holy moly. That sounds like a paradise on earth kind of place. The sneak peak and the name of your quilt certainly match well. Hmm. Now what could it be?! I guess I’ll have to wait, but I want to hear about your CA visit as soon as possible. How incredibly cool!! Thanks for the linky party. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
P.S. I went back to read the CA info again and see that your QUILT gets to visit but not you. Bummer. Imagine all that fabric, in one warehouse . . . just waiting to be sold or brought home . . . with an IBA just like you. It’s still cool that your quilt gets to visit!
My daughter is in Tennessee and it’s been nasty there all week, terrible ice and snow, but thankfully she didn’t lose power either. We don’t have ice, but have got and are getting as I type snow. I’ll take snow over ice any day. Happy sewing and stay warm.
Sorry you got our winter ;( your driveway does not look conducive to getting out and in with ice!!! Glad you could stay in and stitch!
Good job on the goals this week. Your basket block looks interesting. I’m with you — I don’t do paper piecing all that much although I have in the past and I have all sorts of designs hanging around in my studio. Have a great week.
we are getting the ice today hope to not lose power
