Welcome back to another glorious Monday! I am happy to say I look forward to Mondays so I can see what pretties y’all have been making during the past week! I appreciate you so much and am thankful you joined me for another Monday Musings! Though I didn’t get a lot done last week, let’s get our Monday on!!
For the week of 7/16 – 7/22:
- Enjoy vacation!! YES, YES, YES!! ✔ Done!! It was a lot of driving, but we had a blast! On Sunday we worshiped with Elvis (not really), Pastor Bob Joyce! He looks like him and sounds just like him singing! Check him out on YouTube or FaceBook! There were people there from Ontario as well as 11-12 other states! Here are a couple of photos.
We left Arkansas and went to Memphis on Monday. Tuesday we ate at BB Kings Blues Club and heard some awesome blues music from the Beale Street Blues Trio (Plus One). The bassist is actually the sound engineer for the club but sat in with them and man, did it make a difference! I fell in love with his bass. Guess where I went Friday after we got home??!!!! Hmmm….maybe Guitar Center??!!!! LOL
Aside from triple digit heat indices and playing loop de loop around Memphis construction on I-55, we had an awesome time! We also rode by Graceland. We went there once when our daughter was young. We loved it…her…not so much! LOL She thought the carpet on the walls was weird, and well, yeah it was!! But it was on some of the walls there! LOL
- Get post up for Carol’s Picnic Party Blog Hop! My day is the 19th! ✔ Done!! I had all my posts scheduled, and unfortunately this one failed to go live when it was supposed to but it did get posted late Wednesday evening. Check it out in my previous post. Here is my picnic quilt! There is a free pattern link in the post.
- Continue August project when I’m back home. ✔ Done!! I’m using these two precuts and the background called Doughnut for this project!
- If I finish August project, I will work on the quilt on the frame so I can get it off and quilt this project! ✘ Nope! But I do have a renewed mojo and am ready to get back to piecing and quilting!
For the week of 7/24 – 7/31/23:
- Continue to work on August IB project.
- Quilt Log Cabin Star (on the frame).
- Hopefully get August project on the frame.
- Clean Sally Solaris and my studio a bit more. Still trying to find a place for all my goodies from Island Batik and Industry Partners!
- Whatever else suits my fancy.

Sounds like you had a lovely time away. I went to a conference in Memphis years ago and one of my work companions just had to go see Graceland. It was underwhelming and a little tacky in some areas, and opulent in other areas. I think your time was well spent listening to music!

It sounds like an amazing vacation, Brenda. I am so glad you was able to get away and enjoy yourself. We drive through Memphis often , but it has been awhile since we stopped. I would love to go to BB’s. Have a wonderful day. Hugs
