What is a SAHRR, you ask? Well, it is a FUN way to create a quilt! Have you ever participated in a round robin at your guild, or with friends? This is where you have your center, which is then passed to another person to add a border/row around it, and it is then passed to another participating member, and so on. A SAHRR (Stay At Home Round Robin) is like that only your quilt never leaves your studio! You choose your center block and then receive weekly prompts as to what to add to it! It is hosted by Gail of Quilting Gail and she has co-hosts who give prompts each week as well. Here is the schedule.
- January 23: 1st Round: Roseanne & Sue @ Home Sewn by Us
- January 30 : 2nd Round: Wendy @ Pieceful Thoughts of My Quilting Life
- February 6: 3rd Round: Chris @ Chrisknitssews
- February 13: 4th Round: Anja @ Anja Quilts
- February 20: 5th Round: Emily @ The Darling Dogwood
- February 27: 6th Round: ME!!! @ Quilting Gail
- March 13: Parade – showing all of your finished SAHRRs!
Here is my center block, though I may set it on point. Haven’t decided fully just yet! It was one of several test blocks for another project! Now it has found a good use!
I will make my SAHRR scrappy, using left overs from last year’s Island Batik projects!
Now is the time to choose your center block and link up with Gail here. You have until the 21st to link up your block. I hope you will participate with us! Have a great week of stitching!
I like that center! It will be fun to see this develop.
Oh how fun, Brenda. I have never participated in a SAHRR. Thank you so much for explaining how it works. I do love your center block and looking forward to following progress and I just may give it a whirl myself.
Love your centre block!!! SEW glad you’re joining us! 🙂
Hi Brenda! What a great center block! The colors will be a good foundation to build from. It feels good to use up something that was just waiting for a purpose, doesn’t it?! I’m so glad you are joining us. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
Great idea to use up a block you already have!
Looks fabulous! I’m excited to see the quilts in progress. Perhaps I will partcipate when I’m retired; I just don’t have the time to keep up with a weekly thing yet. :o)
Love this test block for your SAHRR! Still waffling on my choice – fabric stash must be validated first! Can’t wait to see yours develop.
