Thank Goodness It’s Finished Friday!

Hi everyone! Today I am hosting the TGIFF link party! Honestly I’m happy to have a finish any day of the week, but especially heading into the weekend!! Today, I have a couple of finishes for you!

First up, is a project I started in summer of 2018 or 2019! Yes, it’s been that long that this beautiful pillow has sat in my studio yearning for some attention. I took a class at one of my local machine dealers. Our most excellent teacher is a certified Jenny Haskins instructor and we really had fun playing with our embroidery machines and ruffler as well. This was an in-the-hoop faux crazy quilt pillow which was done in four parts and stitched together using fancy stitches on the machine. We used Fabric Magic to make those flowers in the center. Steam makes them crinkle like that! I used an easy envelope style for the back. I love how this turned out!

My second finish is a mini quilt I made last September for Carla’s Hello Fall Blog Hop. You can see that post here. I used the Itty Bitty Twister and Harvest pattern to make this project. I did adapt the pattern a bit for my use!

All this little quilt needed was quilting, binding and a way to hang it! I rarely use my domestic machine for quilting, but this one seemed pretty easy with straight lines in the ditch. I’ve never done tabs on a quilt, but this mini measures about `15 x 21, so I thought why not?! As for binding, I wanted to use brown, but when I looked through my left-over binding stash, I only had about 18 inches. Then I found the other binding I had made for another project and it was about 3 inches short of what I needed, so I improvised and strategically cut and placed the brown so it would line up in the corners! I used what was left of the orange patterned binding to make the tabs. Hello Fall is now ready!!

There’s two more projects ticked off towards my PHD in 2021! Now it’s your turn!! I hope you will share with us your finish today! Have a great weekend!

Good morning Brenda! Oh, your little Fall wall hanging turned out just great. I am amazed (think Paul McCartney Amazed since it was playing on the radio!) that you had never made tabs for hangings before. WOWEE! I rarely make anything else unless we don’t want them to see the hanger and then I use the triangles in the corner. I don’t think I’ve ever made a sleeve – okay, once. Anyhoo – this piece will look fab wherever you decide to hang it. {{Hugs}} a bunch and thank you so much for hosting TGIFF! I’m going to go check out some of the eye candy that’s been shared. ~smile~ Roseanne

Love the Twister quilt and that pillow is so pretty too. I didn’t know you did a Linky Party Brenda, is this new? I didn’t see a badge to put on my blog.

Isn’t it fun to get projects ‘out of the pile’ and finished! Love the pillow. Envelope style is my favorite way to do pillows, as they can be swapped out and honestly, how many pillows can a person store! I’ve done some seasonal ones and they are fun to switch around. Love the flowers in 3D! You fall wall hanging is ready just in time! It’s just around the corner. I’ve never done a twister project, but I love the way you added embroidery to it. Nice finishes. I linked up. 🙂

Love your finish! It is so nice to cross some of the old projects off the list. The pillow is so elegant. The wall hanging is absolutely perfect – love the touch of “Fall Y’all” – making it all your own. Thanks for hosting!

That twister project brings back memories – I made a twister quilt a few years ago – I think my daughter took the quilt. Your little mini is so bright, cheerful, and ready for fall!

Brenda, I’m loving the Happy Fall Y’all. That bright orange is a blast of sunshine. I’m loving it even as I’m wishing summer would last a little longer. Thanks for sharing such lovely projects.
