I love it when points come together!!!
This week I have been working on my quilt to raise money for our church’s Haiti mission trip. In all honesty, all of my points are perfect!! But that is something I am working on and this project is great practice!! I did learn some great tips from a Craftsy class by Debbie Maddy called Easy Piecing, Amazing Design (and it’s on sale for less than $20 right now!). You may already know how to get amazing points, but it has always been a challenge for me!
I started by chain stitching those 98 HST’s, along with my squares, that I cut out with my AccuQuilt Go! Big last week! That went pretty quickly! Then I cut them apart, pressed them, and stitched them into blocks with my assorted batik squares.
Once I stitched all the blocks together, placed them on my (portable-more about that at another time) design wall deciding on the final layout before stitching them into rows.
While I’m not finished at the moment, today I will complete this top. Now I need to get batting and wide backing, get it on my longarm, quilted, and hopefully finished next week! Then I have to get this pattern written up and for sale. Stay tuned…
So how do YOU make those perfect points? Inquiring minds want to know!!

See you there!
Neat design. Love how it looks.
Thank you and thanks for stopping by, Sally!
Love the colours, makes it look like stained glass. I’m still working on perfect points. Some are bang on and well others are just ok.
Thanks Ioleen! I may always be working on those elusive perfect points on a consistent basis!
Your design and colors are so striking! I really like the finished piecing as well as the overall color combination. So glad your points came together well. They can always be a challenge!
Thanks, Debbie! I just wish they all looked that good! LOL
