On Mondays, my coffee is like a superhero cape ☕🦸♂️

Happy Monday morning!!! Welcome to Monday Musings! Are you finished with your Christmas stitching?!! I have been working on some of mine…somewhat, but have much more to do…that may not get done until AFTER Christmas!! I don’t know about where y’all are, but it’s COLD in the south! I don’t like it one bit. My joints are rebelling too and do not want to get moving. LOL Y’all stay warm and toasty and stitch away! Now let’s move on to the good stuff!!
Here’s how my story ended for the week of 12/8 – 12/14/25:
- Begin piecing Secret Quilt #2. DONE!! I have two rows of blocks completely done. I wish I could show you! I love this one, so stay tuned! Unfortunately I spent WAY too much time with Jackie (the ripper!) as I was trying to figure out my perfect scant quarter inch seam!!
- Guild Christmas Brunch today. DONE!! We had a great time. I honestly think this was the best brunch we’ve had since I’ve been attending this guild. We sang a couple of little Christmas songs made just for quilters/sewists! Our President, Loretta, gave me permission to share them with you all! They are really fun!!
- Post my final Island Batik project for the year. DONE!! Kind of…It’s ready to go but I decided not to post it until this Wednesday, so stay tuned for that!
- Work on embroidery project. DONE!! I digitized and in-the-hoop potholder and did a test stitch. It’s still a work in progress, but just about ready.
- Whatever suits my fancy. DONE!! Mainly this was playing with my embroidery machine and getting to know her better. She’s a little different from my previous Berninas, but I am already head over heels in love with her! I just ordered two more hoops to go along with what I have!
Plans for the week of 12/15 – 12/21/25:
- Finish stitching Secret Quilt #2 into a flimsy!
- Work on some ornaments for my sewing sisters.
- Wednesday Christmas lunch with my sewing sisters.
- Pick up new hoop that is not back ordered.
- Whatever cranks my tractor!
Here is some quilty inspiration shared last week!

Hi Brenda, good luck with your secret sewing! Take care and thanks for the party!
What clever lyrics to the songs! I look forward to seeing your reveal of secret sewing. Thanks for the chance to share in your Monday Musings party. Merry Quiltmas!
Hi Brenda, As always you have accomplished so much! We have been in the deep freeze like you, with the temps in the single digits and less. Hope everyone has a fantastic Christmas!
Sorry it is so cold where you are Brenda, crank up your heater;) You got a lot done this week, looking forward to seeing your quilt on Wednesday.
Happy Monday, Brenda. I got a kick out of the little song. How cute! Looks like you have a busy week ahead of you. Stay warm and enjoy your week. Hugs.
Its been very cold here, too, and I am like you, I just don’t want to move. 30’s and even 20s I can handle but when it gets below that and icy I am not happy! Off to clear out the sewing room from my last adventure, begin a project for a Jan blog hop and relax with a cuppa!
It’s been really cold in northeasternmost Illinois but it will warm up. Thanks for sharing the Christmas parodies!
I always look forward to seeing what you make with Island Batik fabrics. Our weather has been quite chilly the past couple days. It is 25 this morning, but it is supposed to be up to 75 this weekend! Crazy weather. Hope you have a wonderful week.
Looking forward to your IB ambassadors Choice project. Have a terrific week!
Well done with your list!! Have a lovely holiday season!
