Fun Fact: Did you know? Coffee is the second most traded commodity in the world after oil. Imagine the Mondays it has salvaged worldwide! ☕🌎

Happy Monday morning!!! Welcome to Monday Musings! How has your week been? It was a little hectic around here. Miss M and the school archery team qualified for nationals in Kentucky, so she and mom, her fella, and her fella’s mom headed to Louisville Wednesday after school. The kiddos rode the bus with the rest of the team and the moms drove. I think they got there around 11-11:30 Wednesday night. Back at home…D-man was inducted into the National Junior Honor Society Wednesday night. Mom had to miss that but Dad, Chicken Legs and I, and Dad’s mom all attended to see the ceremony. My SIL got up early Thursday morning and made the drive to Louisville to watch Miss M shoot, then the kids on the bus and the parents drove back home Thursday night. Thursday, I made four trips to two schools to cart the boys around and/or pick them up. B is on both the Middle School and High School tennis team and D had theater practice for their performance this coming week. Those kids work really hard and do such a great job. Chicken Legs took them home after we fed them and he got off work at 9, so they could sleep in their bed and be ready for school Friday. I think it was around 11:30 or so when the parents arrived home! I don’t know how they keep up with everything with all three going in different directions! LOL Some have asked about earlier photos of Peeps and M, but the earliest I could find easily was from 2018 and I have added it below! Now, let’s move on to the good stuff!!
Here’s how my story ended for the week of 5/5- 5/11/25:
- Trim and bind quilt for youth fundraiser. PARTIALLY!! It’s trimmed. I just need to make binding and bind it!
- Finish cutting out Irish Chain Block 2. DONE!!
- Stitch blocks for Irish Chain. PARTIALLY!! Still have a few left to do.
- Hopefully get borders cut for Irish Chain. NOPE!! I started thinking about it and began to panic that I didn’t have enough fabric for the borders, BUT then I remembered, I changed it so I would. WHEW!!

- Gather items for guild yard sale. Other than that, pretty much my life is Irish Chain this week! NOPE!! I don’t think I’ll be able to make it with my deadline looming for May’s Irish Chain Blog Hop.
- Whatever suits my fancy! DONE!! See above for my busy last half of the week. PLUS, we all traipsed out in the rain on Saturday so we could have our Mother’s Day lunch at our favorite Mexican restaurant! It was a fun, wet day! LOL
Plans for the week of 5/12 – 5/18/25:
- Make binding and bind youth quilt.
- Finish May IB Irish Chain challenge project.
- Go watch my boy’s performance Thurday night.
- Whatever cranks my tractor!

This month can sure bring busy times for kids! But hey, they’re good times and create great memories!
You were busy with those lovely grandchildren. Good luck with your week! I will finally be home this afternoon – errands and appointments have kept me away!
What ani credibly busy, but fun week you had Brenda. I love the blocks for your Irish Chain project. I think I can visualize it, but can’t wait to really see it! Thank you for linking with To Do Tuesday and for hosting us all on Monday Musings. 😁
I don’t know how my own daughters and sons-in-law keep up with all the kid activities either. But I guess we all survive those hectic frantic days. And then miss those days when they are suddenly over.
Busy, busy, busy! Sounds like a fun week, with lots of time with the boys. Happy quilting this week.
Wow you were busy last week! I bet you were in your element transporting the boys. So glad you had a nice Mother’s Day.
