April Showers Blog Hop – My Day!

by | Apr 23, 2024 | 24 comments

Our friends Joan of Moosestash Quilting, and Carol of Just Let Me Quilt, keep us challenged with monthly blog hops. This month, Joan is hosting the hop and the theme is April Showers. The challenge: Late snow showers, rain showers, baby showers, wedding showers. What do you like to shower everyone with?

As I contemplated this challenge, I thought of rain boots, umbrellas, and May flowers! I have a book called Calendar Quilts (affiliate link) by Kim Schaefer and this little quilt is actually the quilt for the month of April! I dug REALLY deep into my stash and found some fabrics I really liked and needed to use! I did improvise a bit on my quilt! Instead of a pieced background I made a solid background and borders and then added the applique. No quilt police, right??!! These little quilts are so much fun to make and great to swap out each month and display in your favorite spot! Here is my version of April Showers!!

This little quilt has everything I was thinking about, rain boots, umbrellas, AND flowers!! I hope you will visit my fellow bloggers today and show them some quilty love! You can find the schedule for the entire blog hop in my previous post, but here is today’s schedule.

I love everything about this quilt! Love the big fat raindrops, the boots, the umbrella and the sweet flowers. The background is perfect too – no need to piece it.

Aaw this is a darling quilt, Brenda and great idea on using the border fabric. It is so springy. Gorgeous fabric or the boots too! Well done. We are expecting some spring showers this next week. Today has been a windy day but petty day though. Enjoy your weekend. Hugs.
