Hello quilty friends! Welcome to my blog. Today I am participating in a quilt along with one of my favorite places to shop online – Fat Quarter Shop. They have so many wonderful fabrics, threads, patterns, and notions! And, they are very generous to provide bloggers with wonderful prizes for their blog hops! Thank you, Fat Quarter Shop!
Today, I am sharing with you my version of the Jelly Glazed Hearts table runner. This was a fun and easy project. Please check their blog here for information on the pattern and for other bloggers who are participating.
I absolutely LOVE batik fabrics, so I chose the Ombre Bali Poppy jelly roll by Hoffman fabrics. I have been wanting to try some of the Confetti Cottons, so for my background fabric I chose Confetti Cotton yardage in Cloud. I loved working with it as it is very soft. I loved the way the ombre jelly roll had the shading in each strip. It gave a nice effect. All piecing was done with Aurifil thread, which is my go-to thread for piecing quilts.

I picked some of my favorite colors from the jelly roll and used those in this pattern. Here is my version of the table runner.

I had just as much fun quilting this as I did piecing it! I have recently purchased some new quilting motif books from award winning quilter, Margaret Solomon Gunn. I’m sure you’ve seen some of her work on Pinterest. These are great books and I got to try some new and new to me free motion designs, along with using my HQ Pro-Stitcher for parts of it as well. Here are closer up pics of the blocks. Disclaimer: Please keep in mind, this is the first time I’ve tried free motioning most of these motifs! I also incorporated some ruler work in here also. I do love using rulers! Quilting was done with Superior #50 wt thread for the top and #60 wt Bottom Line thread in the bobbin.

How pretty, I love them. Those fabrics are so vibrant too.
Pretty hearts, surrounded by pretty quilting!
Hi Brenda, I love the ombre batik fabrics that you used for your jelly heart table runner. The quilting designs that your used on and around each heart are just beautiful.
Hi Brenda! Wow, your FMQ looks just wonderful. I really LOVE the heart-shaped feathers around each heart shape. They really set off each heart so nicely, showing them off if you will. That was the first thing I noticed when I visited the FQS website. You should be quite proud of the whole piece. Those batiks are gorgeous as well. ~smile~ Roseanne
This looks like a fast and fun pattern – your quilting is fabulous!
