My happy place smells like coffee ☕️😊 … and looks like my studio! LOL ✂️🧵🪡

Happy Monday morning!!! Welcome to Monday Musings! I hope this finds you all safe from the storm that just covered most of America and definitely most of the south. We were very fortunate. First they said we could get up to an inch of ice but thankfully that changed and all we got was a lot of rain…but then it turned really COLD! If it’s cold where you are…y’all stay warm and toasty and keep on stitching! Now let’s move on to the good stuff!!
Here’s how my story ended for the week of 1/19 – 1/25/26:
- Post Prompt for Round 1 of SAHRR on Wednesday, the 21st. DONE!! And posted. Here is my round one added to my center block. See my previous post for the details. The background in the blocks is not yellow! It is more of a cream but unfortunately didn’t show up well. Ugh!

- RSC block(s) – January is blue! DONE!! Here are my two blocks. You can read about my inspiration HERE.
- Review and re-read videos and instructions for Sunshine Cove Block 12. DONE!! I have really gotten excited to be back working on this quilt after reviewing all of Sarah’s videos. Unfortunately, I found I had to purchase another piece of fabric and some 20″ stabilizer, as I didn’t realize I didn’t have anymore of the 20″. Anyway, that was done and it’s on the way. Hopefully I will have both by Saturday. I did go ahead and mark my Heat-n-Bond Lite and iron to fabric for my applique pieces.
- Work on Round 2 of SAHRR. DONE!! I will share that on Wednesday.
- Sew Day with Friends Wednesday. NOPE!! This crazy weather has my sinuses acting up so I opted to stay home and stitch.
- Whatever suits my fancy. DONE!! I took inventory of what I need to finish Sunshine Cove and while I was looking for supplies and fabric, I did a little purging for things to donate to the guild for QuiltFest. Oh, and I bought a new printer which is supposed to be here today, Unfortunately my old Canon printer just won’t print properly and I rely on printing to organize all the parts for Sunshine Cove…not to mention patterns and everything else I need it for!!
Plans for the week of 1/26 – 2/1/26:
- Load applique fabric and files into my Scan-n-Cut and cut those out and get them in their spot in the notebook that I use for these blocks.
- Continue working on SAHRR.
- Create and test a tension sampler for Sunshine Cove using Big Mama Nina.
- Sew with Friends on Wednesday hopefully.
- Whatever cranks my tractor!
Here is some quilty inspiration shared last week!

I wish we had some snow here, it would help put out some of the bushfires! But I do hope everyone stays safe in those snowstorms… it’s crazy weather all around the world right now! Love all your blocks and I’m also looking forward to the next SAHRR prompt! xx
I love that mug! So cute.
Hi Brenda, I’m glad that you’re keeping warm! Your 2 SRC blocks will make a nice quilt. Thanks for the link to the tutorial for the hour-glass block. It really helped 🙂
Happy Monday, Brenda. Looks like you have plenty to keep you busy as you hunker down with the cold weather for the week. I hope you will tell us more about your tension sampler in the future. Have a blessed and beautiful week. Hugs
You had a great week! Love the RSC blocks. and your SAHRR is going to be great. Stay warm!
Your SAHRR beginning is looking great. I’m skipping this year — I’m just now finishing mine from last year. Or was it the year before? I haven’t decided on a block for RSC… must get on it asap. Your coffee mugs are going to be great with the 9 patch. Looking forward to seeing how these come together.
Thanks, Bonnie! I am please with the snowball that got mugged! LOL Have a great week.
That’s so funny—to see snowman sewing! Ohhh, now I get it–a mug in the middle of your snowball block! Neat twist!!!
Hi Brenda, Thank you for sharing all of the awesome quilts! Wishing you and your family a Happy New Year!
