Mondays: the perfect day to start things. Diet, exercise, learning to juggle – tomorrow’s also good, though. (Well, except for those new quilty projects!! Let start those now!)
– Quotevill.com and (ME!)
Welcome to Monday Musings!! I hope you have all had a really good week and got a few things accomplished. I even got a little cleaning done, as well as finishing up my March Island Batik projects – YAY!! If you celebrate Easter, I hope you had a fantastic day. After church our kiddos came for a simple lunch – ham, potato bacon corn chowder and rolls! It was yummy! They stayed around a while afterward and went home to catch up on laundry from their Disney trip last week. I’m glad they are home as we always have zoo duty twice daily when they are gone! WHEW!!
Here’s how my week went: For the week of 3/25 – 3/31/24:
- Finish third part of Island Batik March project and post. DONE!! You can check out my post HERE. I made two projects in addition to my Give it a Whirl project, which I also shared.
- Work on April’s Funky Friends Factory Project. DONE!! It’s a work in progress!
- Try to get in a sew day with friends on Wednesday! DONE!! There were just two of us, but we had a good time of chatting and sewing!
- Clean a bit in the studio. DONE!!
- Start thinking about that May paper piecing project for IB – not my favorite thing to do, but I will try a method that Quilting Gail taught a few of us and hopefully it won’t be too bad! DONE!! I think I have a plan now and have printed out a couple of patterns on freezer paper!
- I think that’s enough for this week! Well, except for feeding the zoo as the kiddos are at Disney this week for spring break. DONE!!
For the week of 4/1 – 4/7/24:
- Work on Harmony the Highland Cow!
- Do test blocks for the paper piecing project.
- Work on some secret sewing for a blog hop in May.
- Whatever suits my fancy!
Here is a recap of our quilty friends’ linkups from last week!
Now it’s your turn to link up projects you’re working on!
Thanks for your visit and joining in the fun today. I’ll be visiting in my favorite linky parties as they come open -> those over in the side bar!! Have a great week! Until next time…

Sounds like you are making a bunch of progress. Hope this week has been successful!
You’re really getting some miles on that sewing machine! Thanks for sharing your gorgeous projects.
The chowder sounds yummy! We went a little simpler this Easter too (we usually do a formal meal with lamb)–just had BBQ and ate outside with most of our family here. (Missing our Army son but he’ll be moving pretty close in just weeks so, we’ll see him very soon!!). Glad you were able to spend some lovely time with your family! Thanks for hosting as always!
So glad your kids got to celebrate Easter with you – your lunch sounds so yummy! “Zoo duty” can be quite tiring, right? Have a great week!
You are already working on your April project and May is planned. I’d say that is one heck of a progress. I need to get started on my April project. I have been dragging my feet. Thank you for the inspiration, Brenda!
