One day on Mercury lasts about 1,408 hours.
About the same as one Monday on Earth!
Happy Monday morning, everyone!!! Welcome to Monday Musings! I hope all you moms out there had a wonderful Mother’s Day, as well as a great week and got a lot accomplished. Here we are – almost half way through May and I’m still wondering where did April wander off? It’s been a busy week here with the twins having two theater performance Thursday and Friday night and the girl having spring dance recital at school on Thursday as well, and then her competition recital on Saturday night. We attended her school on Thursday and the boys’ on Friday. Unfortunately, I was under the weather Saturday night and unable to attend her regular recital. I think this is the first one I’ve missed since she started dancing at age three! Bless her heart, she was in an arm brace since last week which made it difficult for her. She works with the 5-year-olds at church and one of them was behind her on a tricycle and she didn’t know it and tripped and fell on her right arm. She has to go back for more x-rays this week. We’ll see what happens.
Here’s my story for the week of 5/6 – 5/12/24:
- Continue working on secret sewing project for Jennifer’s Blog hop. DONE!! All except the quilting. With all the school activities and feeling poorly I just didn’t get it quilted, but you can see the flimsy in my next post.
- Quilt above project! NOPE!
- Get the pattern written for said project. NOT YET! It’s in the works.
- Island Batik Blog Hop – my day on Thursday! DONE!! Here is my project for the Paper Pieced Celebrations Challenge. You can read about it HERE.
- Clean a bit in the studio. DONE!! I still have a lot to do, but it’s a start!
- Keeping it simple – whatever suits my fancy! The grandloves took care of that for me! LOL
What’s on the agenda for 5/13 – 5/19:
- Start on June’s IB project.
- Post for Jennifer’s Blog hop.
- Clean a bit in the studio.
- Whatever suits my fancy!

I hope you had a great Mother’s Day and that you are feeling better. Thanks for the your advice on paper piecing. I’ve learned to make a practice block before cutting all you fabric in case you don’t like the look of the pattern when used with your fabrics.
Wow! Your quilt is gorgeous. Looks like another super busy week for you.
Sorry you did not feel well. I hope it has passed. I feel like I may finally have gotten over the hump of the move….a more normal week here.
Sometimes we just need to listen to our bodies better. I hope you bounce back quickly and that your daughter’s arm is ok.
Sounds like you need a break ( not literally tho!!) You have a lot going on !Hope you feel better!
Happy Mother’s Day, sorry you are not feeling well. Nice project using Jennifer’s collection.
Sorry to hear you were under the weather! Hope you felt better for Mother’s Day. That is so sad about your granddaughter’s arm – I hope it heals quickly. That is a stunning quilt!
Hi Brenda, your new quilt is absolutely gorgeous! Sorry to hear you have been under the weather and hope that you are feeling better. I hope your granddaughters arm heals quickly.
I hope you are feeling better Brenda. I am so sorry to hear about your granddaughter’s injury as well. I am glad you was able to watch the performances though you had to miss one. Sounds like you was doing a lot of juggling. Have a wonderful week. Hugs.
