I’ll start working (stitching) when my coffee does ☕ 🧵🪡✂️

Happy Monday morning everyone. Welcome to Monday Musings. I hope you all had a wonderful week of stitching, whatever that may look like for you! I am really enjoying our weather. We have a case of severe clear and highs in the 80s and may reach 90s by week’s end. We shall see. Now let’s move on to the good stuff!!
Here’s how my story ended for the week of 4/6/26- 4/12/26:
- Continue stitching on Buttercup. DONE!! I forgot to post a photo of what I’m working on so will do so now. Buttercup is so cute. Confession: I tried a different fusible, OESD Applique Fuse and Fix and OMG, I’ve had the hardest time. I love OESD products, but this one does NOT work for wool/flannel applique! I thought it would be great because one side is sticky for repositioning prior to fusing in place. What I didn’t know was that it doesn’t fuse! It just sticks, and not very well on wool. I build my appliques on an applique sheet and when I removed it from the sheet it all fell apart! SO, I’ve been having to place it on the wool flannel background and stitch it down as I am going. I purchased some Lite Steam a Seam 2 for the rest of the blocks. Confession #2: I thought I would need to reverse the appliques to use the Fuse and Fix – not the case – SEW, I had to reverse the order of the chart! Normally everything here would be flipped horizontally with the fence posts on the right side. Note to self: DON’T do that again!! Live and learn. LOL

- Continue working on Christmas Barn. NOPE!! I was “enjoying” working on Buttercup. I do enjoy the stitching, which is something I wasn’t sure I would, but having to replace everything as I go is a pain. I hope to have it finished by next week.
- Begin embroidering Sunshine Cove center medallion border. I hopefully will get it finished this week and can get a start on the center. DONE!! I got all four butterfly corners completed and one full side of the border – three more to go! In case you are wondering, Sarah has us prepare the background by stitch-basting it to the stabilizer at intervals according to the size block we are making, thus the lines you see are for placement. This medallion will measure 36″ finished.

- Whatever cranks my tractor! Wednesday we got together for sew day with friends and had a great time.
Plans for the week of 4/13- 4/19/26:
- Finish Buttercup…hopefully!
- I hope to stitch a few pieces of the Christmas barn, but we will see. First priority right now is Buttercup!!
- Guild on Monday and hopefully sew day with friends on Wednesday.
- We both have MD appointments this week, so we will see if anything else gets done!
- Whatever suits my fancy.

Such a cite little cow! Have a great week. 😊
Buttercup is as cute as a button. I can see why she was hard to put down. I am sorry to hear about the trouble with the fusible. I have had trouble with fusible with wool before too so I resorted to doing the same as you. I wish you a very lovely and productive week. I hope all goes well for you both at the doctors. Hugs
Your Buttercup turned out so sweet! The Sunshine Cove medallion is really pretty. Good luck at your doc appointments and have a great week!
Thanks so much, Linda!!
Buttercup is the cutest, Brenda, despite all the fusible trouble you had. I’m surprised an OESD product didn’t work, also. They have such great pantos. Now, that basting. You’ll have to rip it out at the end then?? Sounds like you have a busy, quilty week lined up.
That cow is adorable, Brenda!
