Mondays are brew-tal, thank goodness for coffee! 😖👍☕

Happy Monday morning everyone. Welcome to Monday Musings. 🌞HAPPY SUMMER!!🌞 It’s been a “kinda” week for me! I kinda wanted to do things and I kinda didn’t and just kinda wanted to rest! So I just went with it! With all the rain we’re getting right now I feel kinda moldy! 🤪 I hope you all had a great week and got a lot of fun stitching time in. Now, let’s move on to the good stuff!!
Here’s how my story ended for the week of 6/15/26- 6/21/26:
- Continue stitching on wool sampler. DONE!! I have completed stitching down the applique pieces and am ready to start on the lettering. Whew – I hope that goes well!
- Clean my B990 and straighten up a little in the studio. DONE!! I thoroughly cleaned Miss Mattie B and gave her a fresh needle and did a tad of straightening up – but it can use more. I have a tray full of embroidery thread that needs to go back in the thread cart and plan to get to that this week.
- Stitch some blocks for the Oh Granny Quilt Along, hosted by Elizabeth at OP Quilt. PARTIAL!! One block is cut out and partially stitched and then I stopped!
- My precious friend Linda
giftedblessed me with a beautiful Singer 221 Featherweight machine. I will open it up this week and download a manual and see what I can do with it.DONE!! One of the ladies who used to come to sew day services them and I will get her to do that before I try her out, but here she is! Isn’t this little princess pretty?
- Maybe?? make a couple of RSC blocks as I am a few months behind. NOPE!! Just didn’t get there!
- Whatever cranks my tractor! DONE!! Which was not a lot! I did go to Sew Day on Wednesday and enjoyed doing some hand stitching on the Americana Wool Sampler.
Plans for the week of 6/22- 6/28/26:
- Finish the granny block. Maybe cut out another one.
- Put away embroidery threads used in Peaceful Village at Sunshine Cove.
- Begin catching up on RSC blocks.
- Make post of quilts from QuiltFest.
- Whatever suits my fancy!!

Your featherweight is a beauty. I hope you enjoy sewing with her 🙂
How neat that you were gifted a Featherweight! I hope you enjoy many happy sewing days together! You got things done this week! Hope you get a Granny sewn this week – they are addictive, just warning you!
Rest sounds wonderful! I particulary enjoy a rainy day with nothing to do except nap and read. Have a great week!
So sweet to be blessed with a featherweight! It has such a pretty side plate, too.
Ha ! Ha! Feeling kinda moldy! LOL I understand it is another rainy day here which makes me have a “kinda” day too. Oooh the featherweight is fabulous- how sweet of Linda. The sewing machine has gone to a good home. Have a lovely day, Brenda Stay dry and quilt on! Hugs
Aww, thanks, Melisa. I am ready to play with her after I have her serviced, hopefully this week!
Happy Monday and happy sewing on the cute little featherweight. I love mine on the porch in the summer…it is just so fun!
I’m definitely feeling that pull to rest as well right now, too. I am probably a mix of the piecing perfectionist and layout innovator!
I love that cartoon, and YES – I’m a little bit of each. Maybe not the gadgets so much. Lovely little Featherweight, and even more special because it came from a friend. Enjoy sewing on it.
Congratulations on the featherweight – so pretty! Everyone sure made gorgeous things last week, nice eye candy. I felt like you, so I just sat in my room and caught up ono emails and made some plans, etc. I hope to get back into it this week!
Thanks, Linda. I guess we all have days/weeks like that…sometimes months for me! LOL Hopefully you will be back to it soon.
Brenda, lucky, lucky you to be blessed with a Featherweight sewing machine! It is a gorgeous one. I wish I had one, but they cost more than a lot of new machines these days!
Hi Brenda, That is one Beautiful Featherweight and some gorgeous feet to go with it! That is one very impressive group of quilts!
