(UPDATED POST) For some odd reason my post did not go out as scheduled. Sorry. Welcome back to the Stay at Home Round Robin! This is my week to provide the prompt for Round Five! I chose a traditional (well kind of) block! My prompt is to make quarter log cabin blocks. Half log cabin blocks are also acceptable, if you prefer. I am still using Island Batik solids for my SAHRR this year. Here are my blocks. I am really loving playing with these Island Batik solids in my stash!

Here is a diagram I drew up in EQ8. My blocks are 4″ finished. To make these I cut 1-1/2″ strips of each color and pieced them together in the order shown below. I used the dark red for the “hearth” in my log cabin! (NOPE! These blocks should be 4 inches. This block is actually 3 inches. I will be remaking mine. But I’m adding the 4″ instructions below as well. For the 4″ blocks you need to cut 1-1/2″ strips. Thanks, Nann!! I guess I was asleep when I made these and I did not measure them!)
I am combining my fifth and sixth rounds, so there won’t be a photo until next week. Here is my EQ mockup, but don’t hold me to it…it may change before next week! LOL (UPDATE: It will definitely change!!)

Now, decide how you will interpret this round and come back and link up with me below. Even if you are behind it’s OK. You have time to catch up. Remember you interpret each prompt and it’s placement as YOU see fit! There are no quilting/designing police in this SAHRR!! Most of my blocks are four inches and some are other sizes. It’s all up to you! Make one block or make a row, or even a complete border!
Visit each of the co-hosts and take a look at their interpretations of this round.

We reached out to several companies that we all LOVE and many of them agreed to sponsor the SAHRR 2024!!! We will keep track of all of the participants that link to our Linky parties each week. We will make a list and use a random number generator to choose the winners for each prize! So, if you link up to 3 Linky parties, you will have 3 opportunities to win! If you don’t have a blog or Instagram account, contact me, or one of the other co-hosts and we will post your SAHRR on our blog. This way you still have an opportunity to win!

Looks like a fun block, Brenda. I cannot wait to see everyone’s interpretation in the SAHRR. Enjoy your week. Hugs.
Whoops! I did a full log cabin – yours would’ve been easier at 3-1/2″! Haha.
It’s always fun to see what’s next on this project! Thank you for the inspiration – I love your SAHRR in all the solid colors!
Love the log cabin block. Your SAHRR is looking so wonderful!
Your blocks look great in the corners! I can’t wait to see what you do with next week’s blocks!
Following your diagram and using 1.5″ strips I get 3.5″ unfinished/3″ finished units.
Love the way your blocks work! I do love the space you have created in this quilt.
