Weekly, September PHD, and OMG Update!

by | Oct 2, 2022 | 8 comments

Hi everyone! Another month has passed and it’s time for another PHD, OMG, and weekly update all rolled into one! Let’s start with the PHD update.

PHD in 2022

Well, there was a step in the right direction concerning Madelyn’s quilt! All of the block piecing is done! Now on to the assembly! Here is my task list along with the starts and finishes for September.

September/October One Monthly Goal

I completed both my goals for September. The first was to bind and post the September Island Batik Tool Time Blog Hop project. Here is the photo.

Cosmic Jewels: One to Beam Up, Scottie”

The second goal was to get all 20 Tangled Star blocks pieced and start on the Rising Star blocks. Those were all completed, including the twelve Rising Star blocks. Even the corner and setting triangles are ready!

My OMG for October is to complete the October It’s in the Bag challenge using Island Batik fabric and a pattern by ByAnnie! The pieces are cut and the quilting is done. It’s going to be such a useful bag for us!! Plus there’s Joan’s Gremlins, Goblins and Ghouls Blog Hop! Stay tuned for those!

Weekly Update!

For 9/26-10/2 my list was:

  • Work on the Rising Star blocks. ✔ DONE! All 12 complete. See photo above.
  • Work on Duffle Bag for October’s IB project. ✔ DONE! Quilting done and interfacing ironed on where needed. Also zipper pulls made.
  • Continue cross stitch project. ✔ DONE! Here’s my progress thus far.
  • If time permits, whatever suits my fancy!! ✔ DONE! Well at least it suited Dalton’s fancy and made him a vest for his frog!
D and his frog

Now on to my list for this week – 10/2 – 10/9:

  • Work on Duffle bag.
  • Decide on Gremlins, Goblins and Ghouls blog hop project and get it started.
  • Begin laying out Madelyn’s quilt and piecing rows together.
  • Continue with cross stitch.
  • Probably no extra time, but if there is I’ll chase a squirrel…maybe! Whatever suits my fancy!

That will definitely keep me busy this week. What are your plans? How are things where you are? Prayers for all who were affected by Hurricane Ian.

I’ll be linking up with Linda at The Texas Quilt Gal for To-Do Tuesday, Joy of Days Filled with Joy for This and That Monday, Gail of Quilting Gail for my PHD Update and Patty at Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal for my One Monthly Goal. I hope you all have a great week! Until next time…

Happy Quilting!

Those stars look very complicated. I hope there’s actually some easy piecing. Looking forward to the updated cross-stitch project!

Gorgeous projects Brenda! Can’t wait to see your duffle bag. The pattern page didn’t show the inside – I’ll wait till I see yours before I purchase it. That picture of Dalton and his frog is so cute! Thank you for joining with To Do Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday, Brenda. I am so impressed with how organized you are. No wonder you get so much done. Well done. Your Cosmic Jewels is gorgeous as are the Tangles Stars. Dalton is a very handsome young man and what a sweet frog. Happy quilting.
