Let’s play who has the scarier Monday face. Winner gets more coffee. 👹☕

Happy Monday morning everyone!! Welcome to Monday Musings. Well, we have survived Hurricane Isaias, which had been downgraded to a tropical storm by the time it reached us about midnight Friday night. We thankfully just had lots of rain and lots of leaves and little twigs and limbs down on our property. It could have been much worse. So grateful it wasn’t. It was so funny Friday morning, Chloe brought a twig with some leaves on it and dropped it on the porch when she came back in. I mentioned to Chicken Legs that maybe she was trying to tell us what to expect, and sure enough, she was right. So glad she didn’t try dragging a dead tree to the porch!! LOL There may be a few extra trees down in our woods. Pics below. Our crazy kids went camping at Auburn because Miss M was invited to an event on campus on Monday regarding the honors program there. Thankfully, they were OK too. I wasn’t too concerned for us because we are in a house on a hill and have a basement if needed. They were in their RV…by a creek…which was dry when they first got there. Thankfully it didn’t flood and they survived the wind/gusts. What have you guys been up to this week? I’ll catch you up on the happenings in my studio and then please share what is going on in your world! Thanks for being here! Now, let’s move on to the good stuff!!
Here’s how my story ended for the week of 10/5/26- 10/11/26:
- Make second set of Marigold Mystery blocks, if time permits. DONE!! The colors aren’t great in the photos, but they are complete!

- Sew day on Tuesday this month as the center where we sew will be closed as they go out to listen to different musical renderings this month on Wednesdays. DONE!! We helped one of our Sew Sisters get started on putting some Hunters Star blocks together she had cut out to make for a family member. We got a good bit done. Hopefully she will be inspired now to continue working on it. I think she had lost her mojo!
- Wash clothes and pack for a visit to my brother in NC. My brother in VA is coming to meet us and we will all be together for the first time in way too many years. I’m not looking forward to the seven hour drive, but so looking forward to family time. Sew day on Tuesday this month as the center where we sew will be closed as they go out to listen to different musical renderings this month on Wednesdays. DONE!!
- Whatever cranks my tractor! DONE!!
Plans for the week of 10/5- 10/11/26:
- Enjoy being with family.
- Maybe when I get home I’ll cut out October’s Marigold Mystery blocks. We’ll see.
- Whatever suits my fancy!!
Here is some quilty inspiration shared last week!

Now it’s your turn to link up projects you’re working on!
Julie Cefalu, The Crafty Quilter, is doing a series on Fantasy Flying Geese. She just published Week 6, Mountaintop Flying Geese, and they are all available on her blog. She is even providing a downloadable instruction sheet for each one. Julie was kind enough to provide a couple of digital patterns to us for the last SAHRR and maybe she will again this year! If you love flying geese, check out Julie’s post HERE!

I am so glad that the hurricane was downgraded. Always very scary. Now you can take a big gulp of coffee and ponder what to work on next. Your Nellie and Lucy block is lovely. Wonderful applique and the starts do look wonderful. Have a great week.
