Monday Musings 11/24/25

Happy Monday morning!!! Welcome to Monday Musings! I hope you have all had a great week and got a lot of fun sewing projects done! I just loved watching Carol Burnett and Vicki Lawrence – especially Mama’s Family!! They always made me laugh and laughter is great medicine! OK friends, this is the last week of November…have you started your Christmas stitching or are you already finished?!! Inquiring minds what to know! Now let’s move on to the good stuff!!

Here’s how my story ended for the week of 11/17 – 11/23/25:

  • Hopefully get the big quilt trimmed and bound. NOPE!! I was having too much fun with Big Mama Nina!
  • Sew Day with my Sewing Sisters on Wednesday. NOPE!! We got a call just before I was ready to leave and had to go check out our dear Miss M. She had a terrible migraine and was unable to stay at school and couldn’t drive home, so we checked her out for our daughter and brought her back here to take care of her for the day. Bless her, she slept all day. Her dad got her an appointment with her doc and took her late afternoon. The meds helped and she was able to go to school the rest of the week!
  • Learn more about Big Mama Nina. DONE!! Oh my gosh, there is SEW much to learn!
  • Start cutting kits for secret sewing for the Island Batik catalog. Fabric is supposed to be here Thursday, but hopefully it will come sooner. DONE!! At least for one. I got one completely cut and most of the blocks sewn.
  • Whatever cranks my tractor! DONE!! Tuesday evening we attended the boys’ theater production. B likes to be behind the scenes so he operated the spotlight. D, on the other hand, loves acting! They did a production called Annie Jr. It was so cute, and there are some very talented middle schoolers. Their vocals were amazing. D was part of a group ensemble (of course he was a head taller than the rest of the students!) and also played the part of FDR. He did great in both parts.

Plans for the week of 11/24- 12/1/25:

  • Keep learning more about Big Mama Nina.
  • Finish my December Virtual Christmas Cookie Exchange project.
  • Get secret sewing quilt #1 to a flimsy and cut out the next one.
  • Whatever suits my fancy.

Thanks to everyone who linked up! If you want to know more about any of these, click through the links in the last Monday Musings post.

Migraines run in my mom’s side but I never had a migraine until I was in my 30’s. I’ve only had one since I started getting monthly massages (about 7 or 8 years ago?). Just a heads-up there if she continues to get them? Hope you have a nice week, esp Thanksgiving!
(Is it me or are the links not working? I’m getting an error on every one?)

What a busy week for you. Glad to hear your g-daughter could sleep most of the day. And, she got some relief. I laughed when you mentioned your g-sons working on Annie Jr. One of our g-daughters was in that version at her school. It sounds like both schools did a great job. Hope you keep making quilting progress this busy week.

I’m sorry to read about your granddaughter’s migraine. How old is she? I didn’t have them until my late 20s and thankfully they stopped in my early 60s. Sounds like you had a relaxing week learning about your new toy!
