I like my Monday with a side of coffee ☕️🌞

Happy Monday morning!!! Welcome to Monday Musings! I hope you have all had a great week and got a lot of fun sewing projects done! We definitely had some winter weather…for two days! LOL Low got down in the 20s and 30s, then…right back to warmer weather…which I like better! As I was reading some of the posts from last week, a few people got snow. They can keep that, though I’m sure the kiddos would love to have some. Who knows, maybe we will get some this year. We haven’t had any in a while. And it’s definitely time to stay in and stitch when it comes! LOL Now let’s move on to the good stuff!!
Here’s how my story ended for the week of 11/10 – 11/16/25:
- Continue working on the big quilt. DONE!! Photos will follow after I get it trimmed up and bound. At least the binding is made!
- Hopefully start my December Virtual Christmas Cookie Exchange project?? DONE!! Well…maybe. I have one, but may make another!
- Whatever suits my fancy. DONE!! So…I did a thing! A friend and I went to a class, with a national teacher, at our local Bernina store on Thursday, . We were there from 9-4 and they even provided lunch for us. We had a great time making a project on the B990 and learning it’s fantastic features! Guess what followed me home???!!!! Yes, it did! I actually picked it up on Saturday and spent the rest of the day taking down the Solaris and putting it away and straightening up the studio somewhat. I really look forward to learning more about it this week! I traded my 830 in on it and sold my 730, so I’m back to one Nina now. I think I’m going to love it.

Plans for the week of 11/17- 11/23/25:
- Hopefully get the big quilt trimmed and bound.
- Sew Day with my Sewing Sisters on Wednesday.
- Learn more about Big Mama.
- Start cutting kits for secret sewing for the Island Batik catalog. Fabric is supposed to be here Thursday, but hopefully it will come sooner.
- Whatever cranks my tractor!

Wow Brenda, I guess the sales pitch worked! I hope you’ll like it. It sounds like a wonderful machine (Gwyneth Trefethen is sharing her learning on it on her blog). Good luck!
Oooh! Hope you’ve been having fun getting to know Big Mama! Our local dealer has has 3 turned in because they were too much machine for the buyers! 🤔
Wow! Is there such a thing as too much machine??!! LOL I am having fun with it, for sure!
It sounds like you had a great week. I hope you can find lots of time to enjoy your new machine 🙂
Brenda, I loved your meme about coffee and will be sharing it on my blog with a link back to you! Today’s been a hard day missing my Daddy and your post made me chuckle. Thank you!
CONGRATULATIONS on your new Nina 990! I’ve heard wonderful things about it!
Eeeh ! A Nina to play with! I hope you enjoy it, Brenda. It sounds like you will have a busy week working with it. Enjoy . Warm hugs.
Whoo Hoo!! what fun!! and smart to take a class on it !!!
Enjoy your new machine! It looks amazing.
Wow! I belong to a Bernina group and quite a few people bought it when it first came out. Have fun playing with it and learning all about it. I’m not motivated to learn so many new things so I’ll stick with my 570 which actually is way more than I need! It sounds like a really great machine.
Your new Bernina is beautiful! Looks like lots of throat space and what a pretty screen. I bet it embroideries up a storm – have fun with it!
Thanks, Linda. It has 14 inches of throat space! It will definitely embroider up a storm…and sew!! LOL
Does your new Bernina do embroidery too, Brenda? Bernina’s are great machines.
