This is a “multiple cups of coffee” kind of Monday. ☕️☕️

Happy Monday morning!!! Welcome to Monday Musings! It’s been a crazy 36 hours here in the south so I definitely NEED multiple cups of coffee…maybe multiple pots of coffee! We’ve had two dozen tornado warnings during that time and a couple of those were really close. I’m so thankful there were no deaths in our immediate area. Our kids don’t have a basement so they grabbed their helmets and went to the hallway. My babies were freaking out as they could actually feel the wind coming inside during the last warning we had, and they have a brick house. It was a bit scary. There was a direct hit about seven miles from us that hit a trailer park and destroyed at least one home there as well as an RV dealer across town and a lot of debris on the interstate we heard. I haven’t seen photos yet, but one of our church members is a fireman and he said there were RVs and parts strewn everywhere. There have been three confirmed deaths in our state, unfortunately. This line started way west of us. I hope none of you were affected. I hope you are all safe. On to the good stuff!!
Here’s how my story ended for the week of 3/9 – 3/16/25:
- Get March IB project quilted. PARTIAL! It’s on the frame and the first row is quilted. I am having to custom quilt it as it has some embroidery blocks in it as well as pieced blocks. I love how it’s coming along!
- Get SAHRR quilted. DONE!! Come back on the 24th for the SAHRR parade which will be hosted by Gail at Quilting Gail.
- Finish paper (less) piecing block. DONE!! You can read the post HERE.

- Clean Sally. PARTIAL! She got a fluff out and a new needle but needs a good vacuum.
- Put away the dies and sweep. PARTIAL! I think I had dies from at least four Qube sets out! Geeesh!
- Whatever suits my fancy. Nothing other than quilting and glued to the TV!
Plans for the week of 3/17 – 3/23/25:
- Finish quilting March IB project.
- Clean Sally thoroughly!
- Finish putting away the dies and sweep the studio before beginning next project.
- Wash and pack for our trip to the beach to eat some seafood and check out some quilt shops on the 24th.
- Whatever cranks my tractor!!

I’m glad you are ok. That weather sounds terrifying. I love your paper (less) piecing block 🙂
Glad you are safe and sound!!! I think we had some of your weather here today… wild and stormy… it has also cooled a bit and I need to work on my to do list in the studio….. thanks for hosting this for us each week! xx
Your block came out lovely! There’s beautiful colors and such smooth movement! Nice job!
Glad you were all safe! The wind can be so terrifying when it is that strong. Wishing you a week of good work; I am about to quilt my SAHRR!
That sounds so scary! Helmets?!!! In the house?! I’m glad you and your family are safe. Happy quilting!
Happy St Pat’s day! I am glad to know that you are all safe and well after those scary storms. Have a great week!
Glad to hear you and yours were safe. I can imagine how frightening it was for your kids. And, on a happier note, I LOVE your paper piecing project. It looks terrific.
Wow Brenda that sounds intense! Glad you and yours were OK and prayers for those affected. 🙁
Glad you are all okay Brenda. That must have been scary!!! We get strong windy March-April in our windy season, but not tornado strong (well not near me).
Wow, sounds scary, Brenda. I’m glad you and your family made it through. We prayed in church for those affected by the tornadoes. That was for you. And yes, a happy St. Patrick’s Day to you! I’m up early to get the corned beef in the crockpot.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day , Brenda. I am so glad that you and your family are safe and sound after such a harrowing weekend. It was stormy here too with high winds. Thankfully, there was no damage in our area. Wishing you a week of sunshine. Hugs
