Coffee: liquid optimism for a Monday morning ☕️🌞

Happy Monday morning!!! Welcome to Monday Musings! I hope you have all had a great week. Ours was busy on and off, but mostly just enjoyed hanging around the house and doing what we felt like. On to the good stuff!!
Here’s how my story ended for the week of 3/24 – 3/30/25:
- Begin April Island Batik project. April is Drunkard’s path blocks. Curved piecing isn’t really my thing, but I have an AccuQuilt die for that and have designed the quilt. Now I just need to cut it out and stitch it together. DONE!! It’s all cut out and 36 of the curved blocks are sewn together and pressed – just 24 more curved blocks to stitch! YAY!
- SAHRR Parade. DONE!! You can read more about it HERE.
- Whatever suits my fancy. We may take a day trip after the funeral. – No day trip but we did go out to eat one day and enjoyed that. Funerals are sad, but sometimes, as we age, that’s the only time family really gets together. It was good to see family though not under the best circumstances. My husband’s sister and her son came from GA, but his brother was unable to make it from western NC. Of my mother-in-law’s two remaining sisters, the youngest had four of her five children there, and the next youngest had two of her four there. The aunt who passed had only one son. There were nine of 13 cousins there, which was nice and we have decided we will try to get together sooner than the next funeral.
Plans for the week of 3/31 – 4/6/25:
- Continue working on April IB project.
- Hopefully a sew day with friends on Wednesday.
- Whatever cranks my tractor!

Fabulous quilting on your SAHRR!!!
That is so often true, Brenda. I want to wish your family my condolences . I am so very sorry for your loss. I wish you a lovely week and Happy April. Hugs.
It’s so true of funerals… we are sad for the passing but so happy to see family that doesn’t get together often. Your SAHRR looks great. Using the prompts makes folks think outside the box. I’m looking forward to seeing your curved piecing finish. (I have a die for that too!)
Beautiful finish Brenda,I love seeing everyone’s finish for the SAHRR. Thank you for the linky.
