Hello, Monday. We meet again (and I brought backup) ☕️💼❤️☕🤗

Happy Monday morning everyone. Welcome to Monday Musings…and Happy APRIL!! I hope you all had a wonderful week and a blessed Easter weekend. We had 70-80s last week, then a storm blew through Saturday night and it was in the 60s Sunday and low 70s today! Now let’s move on to the good stuff!!
Here’s how my story ended for the week of 3/30/26- 4/5/26:
- Continue working on Flossie and the Christmas Barn. DONE!! I now have the sides, front and back, and some of the snow banks and smaller pieces completed. See below for info on Flossie!
- Hopefully sew day with friends on Wednesday. NOPE! Didn’t make it. I’ve been nursing a huge blister on top of my foot and have no idea how it got there.
- Restick mats and cut out applique for Sunshine Cove center medallion border and prepare the background fabric and stabilizer for stitching the outer border. DONE!! I have the background prepared but due to really messing up a couple of the prepared fabrics, I had to purchase new blades for my ScanNCut. I really like the Zig 2-way Glue Stick for re-sticking the mats. Thankfully the new blade worked perfectly and I was able to cut out the appliques and get them in the book ready to start the embroidery process. I did not take a photo of the background after stitching it to the stabilizer, but will show you my progress next week.
- Cut and stitch March red RSC blocks. DONE!! Here they are. You can read about them in my THIS POST.
- Whatever suits my fancy. DONE!! I finished Flossie!! I think she is just adorable. I also cut out appliques for Buttercup, Block #2 for Highland Heifers. Note to self: DO NOT used OESD Fuse and Fix for wool projects! When I took it off the applique mat, after placing everything so carefully, it kind of fell apart and did NOT like the wool. It sticks…somewhat…but even pressing it will not adhere it to the wool. I bought some Steam-a-Seam 2 Lite for the remainder of the blocks. I’m working on stitching Buttercup in place, though many of the parts will have to be carefully placed back as they have fallen off. UGH!! Anyway, here is Flossie! Isn’t she adorable??!! My stitching got a little better as I went along, but still working on it! I did learn a couple of new embroidery stitches though.
Plans for the week of 3/30- 4/5/26:
- Continue stitching on Buttercup.
- Continue working on Christmas Barn.
- Begin embroidering Sunshine Cove center medallion border. I hopefully will get it finished this week and can get a start on the center.
- Whatever cranks my tractor!
