God, grant me a vacation to make bearable what I can’t change; a friend to make it funny; and the wisdom to not get my knickers in a knot because it solves nothing and makes me walk funny.”

Happy Monday morning, everyone!!! Welcome to Monday Musings! I truly hope my Monday Musings helps brighten your Monday … and your week! Did you have a good week? I had an awesome week. We picked up the grandloves Saturday and will have them until Wednesday when we will do a swap out with the MeMaw! Our daughter and son-in-love are off to San Francisco for their 21st anniversary trip. It will be high 80s to 90s here and 60-70s there! They will love it. Now…on to the fun stuff!
Here’s my story for the week of 5/20 – 5/26/24:
- Start piecing catalog quilts! I can’t wait to show you all these this fall when the fabric lines come out! DONE!! I am ready to put the borders on the first one. Here is a sneak peek of it. This one is called Purple Haze!

- Maybe get a few blocks of June IB project done?? Nope! But I finally decided on a design for it!
- Start writing the pattern written for Jewels in the Garden (unquilted flimsy above!) when I need a break from sewing. Nope! No time for writing this week.
- Clean a bit in the studio. DONE!!
- Whatever suits my fancy! DONE!! Had a fun sew day with some of my sewing buddies on Wednesday.
What’s on the agenda for 5/27 – 6/1:
- Work on June’s IB project.
- Get borders on Purple Haze.
- Make backing for Purple Haze.
- Work on project for Joan’s For the Birds Blog Hop.
- Clean a bit in the studio.
- Whatever suits my fancy. I’ll be busy playing GiGi Taxi until the MeMaw takes over, but even then, we have zoo duty for their animals! So, it will be a busy week! I may even go get my hair did! LOL

What a busy week! I hope you are enjoying every moment with your grand loves. Best wishes on making lots of progress on your to do list this week!
Sounds like a busy week, but you still made good quilty progress. Good luck with this week’s list.
Sounds like a busy but fun week Brenda. You did great with your list last week. I hope you have lots of fun with your grandloves and get as much done as you choose to without tiring yourself too much! I love your quilt top. The colours, design and fabric are all perfect! Thank you for the fun linky party and for joining To-Do Tuesday. ????
You have a lot going! Can’t wait to see your catalog quits…enjoy your time with the Grandkids.
Looks like you had an amazing week! We’re having dinner with Susan and her husband this afternoon, celebrating Memorial Day quietly.
Fun weekend for you, Brenda!!! I always enjoy your recaps! We’ll take my mom to the cemetery for the program there today. We’ll see most of my cousins there. It’s a tradition!
A good reminder — thanks for that sentiment. I was a lucky one as my dad served for 30 years but always came home. Although I suspect Naval personnel might have a better survival rate except during WW II when he joined up, not even finishing college.
You will be a tired Grandma by Wednesday! Enjoy your week, and look forward to when you get to play “catch up” in your sewing room. 😉
Lol “Knickers in a knot” . I haven’t heard that in years. I can not wait to see your catalog quilts this fall. It sounds exciting. Have a wonderful Memorial Day, Brenda . Hugs.
I really like your reminder for tomorrow. It is so easy to forget what tomorrow is all about. Enjoy the time with the grandkids.
Thanks so much for hosting.
