Monday is the day when you realize that you forgot to do everything you said you were going to do over the weekend.

Happy Monday morning, everyone!!! Welcome to Monday Musings! Have you realized this morning that you didn’t get to everything you said you were going to do over the weekend? I certainly have Mondays like that!! Do you remember sleeping in curlers? How about tin cans?? That was the rage when I was a teenager! My family thought I was nuts. I just had to share this cute picture with y’all today! I have good news that my girlie did not have a fracture. But they feel it was a bad bone bruise. It’s still a bit painful, but she can come out of the rigid brace this week. She’s happy! Now…on to the fun stuff!
Here’s my story for the week of 5/13 – 5/19/24:
- Start on June’s IB project. DONE!! I did a test block of one of the blocks I will be doing (maybe??) for next month’s project. OK, maybe I just wanted to play with this ruler and see if I could make this block. I’ve had it a while but haven’t used it yet. For our project I was given the V-Block ruler which I will be using, but they also encourage us to add other blocks we’ve made from Studio 180 tools. So…after a little trial and error, here is my hollow cube! As you can see, I haven’t trimmed it yet! I was so excited to get it done!

- Post for Jennifer’s Blog hop. DONE!! See that post HERE. I did not get it quilted, but I had a flimsy!

- Clean a bit in the studio. DONE!! I literally had AccuQuilt Qube dies EVERYWHERE! Now they are all in their boxes and ready to be used again! I also got my machine cleaned and ready to start secret sewing this week!
- Whatever suits my fancy! DONE!! You know those dies mentioned above, well, they were used to cut and kit my three catalog quilts for Island Batik! So there really were a LOT of them out of their houses.
What’s on the agenda for 5/20 – 5/26:
- Start piecing catalog quilts! I can’t wait to show you all these this fall when the fabric lines come out!
- Maybe get a few blocks of June IB project done?? We’ll see.
- Start writing the pattern written for Jewels in the Garden (unquilted flimsy above!) when I need a break from sewing.
- Clean a bit in the studio.
- Whatever suits my fancy! The grandloves will come Saturday night and stay with us until Tuesday or Wednesday and then go to the MeMaw’s house and stay until their parents get home from their anniversary trip. I can’t believe they’ve been married 21 years!
Here is a recap of our quilty friends’ linkups from last week!

Also, C&T Publishing is having a Memorial Day ebook sale from May 23-27, 2024. Customers can enjoy 50% off ebooks using the code (SUMMERBOOKS24) at checkout. They have some great books available and I like that ebooks don’t take up space on your bookshelf! LOL
One last thing before I go, I wanted to share some pics of the Northern Lights in the south! My daughter took these from her house about a mile away. They appear to be right over our house, but we couldn’t see them when we went outside! We have a lot of trees around. I wish we had just taken a photo of the sky as several have mentioned they couldn’t see them with the naked eye but pointed their phone up and they showed up on the photo! These were seen by my daughter without taking the photo first!
Thanks for visiting and sharing today. I’ll be visiting my favorite linky parties as they come open -> those over in the side bar!! Have a great week! Until next time…

How did it get to be Wednesday??? You got moving last week…here’s to success with this week for you!
I hope you had a great weekend with the grandchildren , Brenda. Tomorrow is the last day of school for ours ; they are looking forward to summer vacation. June’s project looks like it is going to be very interesting. I can not wait to see more. Have a great week. Hugs.
Sounds like you had a productive week! I have some “work” work to catch up with, and then maybe I can squeeze in a bit of sewing time this week. Have a good one!
Glad your girl didn’t have a fracture. Enjoy your grands!
I am a fan of Studio 180 and lots of their rulers. I’m curious as to which rulers you used to make the hollow block. I wonder if I could actually type this in green? I’m jealous that you have multitudes of cube dies hanging around the studio. Does that mean you own more than one cube? I use my dies several times a week and they are great for cutting scraps into various sizes. Have a great week.
Have fun with those grands over the weekend! Nice that both sets of grandparents are willing to share! I hope you are still having fun playing with the accuquilt dies and coming up with new projects.
