BluPrint (formerly Craftsy) Closing

by | May 30, 2020 | 2 comments

Hello Friends. Many of you are aware (or maybe not) that BluPrint is closing their site. This makes me sad and somewhat angry, as well. It was a great resource to entertain you, as well as learn new crafts. They are supposedly going to reimburse those with subscriptions at a pro-rated amount, at the time they close. No date has been set for closing down, at this point. Also, they are working on a way for those of us who have purchased classes to be able to download them. I am including a copy of the letter from the CEO below.

Letter to Our Bluprint Customers

May 24, 2020

To our Bluprint community:

This is not an easy letter to write. For the last ten years, my colleagues and I have worked tirelessly on Craftsy and then Bluprint. When we started the business in 2010, our goal was to provide passionate enthusiasts access to the world’s best experts and make it easier to learn new skills. Our hope was to make people’s lives better through creativity, and we’ve been honored to serve millions of customers over the last decade.

I am disappointed to inform you that Bluprint will be closing over the next few months. Like so many customers, instructors, designers, and employees, I am devastated by this news. Please know that our team is working quickly to finalize details, and we will provide more information soon.

For now, I wanted to let you know that we are looking at various options to allow those of you who have purchased individual classes to receive a copy of your classes. This includes individual classes purchased with own forever credits. We are also planning to issue prorated refunds for paid subscribers based on the last day our service will be available, which will be communicated when that date is finalized in the near future.

On behalf of all the Craftsy/Bluprint employees, I want to express our gratitude and appreciation to you for being with us on this journey.

If you have questions, please use the Contact Us feature below, and we will do our best to respond as quickly as possible.

Thank you and please stay safe and healthy.

So there you have it. The last day and time to purchase individual classes, patterns, new subscriptions and supplies is May 31, 2020 at 11:59 pm EDT. DON’T purchase a subscription. But if you have purchased patterns you have not downloaded, please take some time and get them. Tomorrow is the last day to purchase supplies.

I hope you are all safe and healthy. What are you working on right now. I don’t know about you, but it’s been hard for me to really get into doing a lot. I am still working on the Peace Village quilt by Sarah Vedeler at Meaning of Life Designs and just finished my “real” border for month 1. For those of you who missed my last post, here is a picture of my test and my real block.

I love the Bohemian Rhapsody fabric in the real block! Can’t wait to finish the center and get it quilted and start on the next one! Until next time…

I answer all comments via email. Please spread the love about my blog!

So sad about Bluprint closing. I was surprised too. Such a great source it was. The two Peace Village quilts are looking great. That house reminds me of mother’s. Working on some UFOs this week. Staying home as much as possible is great sewing and quilting time, isn’t it?

Hi Brenda! I was really surprised by the notice about BluPrint closing. It doesn’t seem like they were really invested since they took over Craftsy. Boy, the pieces really stand out much more on the ‘real’ block as opposed to your test one! Really nice! I hope you and your family are staying safe and healthy! ~smile~ Roseanne
