Welcome to the Christmas in July Then and Now Blog Hop, hosted by Carol of Just Let Me Quilt! I really love participating in these blog hops. You meet so many new friends, as well as catch up with not so new ones! LOL I love Christmas, so this was an easy decision for me. With life being as crazy it has been the last few months, it was nice of Carol to make this a simple hop – show something old or stitch something new and post on our day! Thank you Carol, for hosting this fun and inspiring hop. Maybe we can get some great ideas for Christmas stitching, and, hopefully, get a head start on it, seeing as we are most still staying inside for the time being! There really is never enough time in the day for all I want to do! Welcome to my day!!

First, the THEN! This pattern is called Whimsical Christmas Table Runner. It was such fun to make!! This was from Christmas 2018 and you can find the pattern here.

I also made this mantel scarf from my Applique Christmas Owls, embroidered in the hoop. I don’t have a pattern for this because I made this from my test stitch outs, but you could easily make your own pattern!

And that brings us to the NOW!! I decided to digitize a new Christmas mug rug and here it is! I stitched the snowflakes with Sulky Holoshimmer silver thread. There are some gorgeous colors in this line! I love the way it looks. Unfortunately, the picture really does not do it justice! The fabrics all have some shimmer to them.

All embroidery designs and patterns in my Christmas category in the shop are on sale thru 7/31/20 at 40% off! After all, it is Christmas in July and we need to get busy stitching up some gifts! There are some great designs for kitchen towels for hostess gifts – or for yourself!
And now for the giveaway. Just complete the Rafflecopter form below and one person (US residents only, as I am paying postage!) will receive the Christmas Mug Rug.

I love decorating with red and silver
I decorate in pretty much any color. I have a theme for each room. I usually go with red, green and white.
I like to add a lot of Pastel shades at Christmas.
I always like red and gold
Christmas holidays are an explosion of color and lights. Your table runners are charming.
Such cute table runners. And your mug rug is very special.
If any of you have a problem commenting on my blog, please contact me and let me know! Thanks!!
I love to use red, gold, and green to decorate at Christmas time.
I love the old AND the new! Are the red balls embroidered or beads? Thanks so much for the giveaway chance for that mug rug. It’s about too pretty to use for that, though!
Hi Brenda, love all of the fabrics and colors that you used to create your Adorable Christmas projects. I am sure your grandsons love the darling Christmas stockings with their names embroidered on them that you made for them. Your designs are always fabulous!
Red, green white and silver are favorite colors for decorating at Xmas time.
Such cute projects! Thank you for sharing.
Great projects! I love the reindeer table runner. Your latest creation is so cute! Great digitizing job!
Great Owl runner and love the location above the fireplace. Santa might take it with him.
That little owl runner is a hoot! Such cute projects! I tend to go with the traditional Christmas colors of red and green, but I’m trying to branch out a little, so one of my projects for the Hop will show that.
Golds & silvers always look so elegant.
All of your projects are so cute! I like the traditional Christmas colors of red, green, silver and gold.
You have such cute projects! I love traditional reds and greens, but I also use some silver and gold. Some years my tree is all silver, gold, and glass, and other years it decorated in all red.

Very festive tablerunners and the cutest mug rug.
I don’t do much decorating for Christmas anymore. But I love Red, Green, & Gold or Blue & Sliver.
Enjoyed looking around your lovely site. Love the mug rug!
Love the mug rug. Those owls have won me over for sure. I like to use traditional Christmas colors, they go with our cabin so well.
Your mantel display of all quilty goodness – oh my!.
Hi Brenda! I’m with you – I love Christmas. Aww, your grandloves probably enjoy seeing that mantle quilt and their special stockings, all hung in a row. Me, too! Your Merry Christmas mug rug is just so perfect and festive. I love it! ~smile~ Roseanne
Seeing your stockings reminded me that I need to make one for our our newest little grandson. I like the pinwheels because they remind me of the ribbon candy I got as a kid. Thank you for the invite to visit!
Light blue, silver and white!
Your cute pinwheels caught my eye! I like to decorate in traditional red and green.
My favorite colors for decorating for Christmas are always red, green and gold. Then I see something beautiful in blue and silver and want to change my mind….. but I don’t…. I stick with my red, green & gold. 🙂 I love your little owls, especially, but love all your gorgeous patterns!
I love the reds and greens mostly — Do the lights in white – to offset all other colors!! I do like blue – just not for Christmas
I am so old fashioned when Christmas rolls around. I almost always choose Christmas red and Christmas green. Loved seeing all your projects – past and present. I don’t do a lot of Christmas projects so it’s nice to see that others do.
Favorite colors red, green, gold and silver.
Awe I love the owl, adorable.
Your sweet mantel scarf is full of such cute characters and those stockings are adorable. The mug rug caught my eye with that frayed edge. What’s the scoop on creating that? I love it! Thank you, Brenda, for sharing your Christmas “then and now” and giving us some great inspiration. xo
Lots of jolly in your holiday I see. 🙂 What a sweet little mug rug. I love the frayed edges. Great idea to turn those stitch outs into a table runner.
I absolutely love this.. I would have to go with blue and silver..
Sweet little projects. I haven’t been brave enough to try applique in the hoop with my embroidery machine.
