Had my coffee and meds. Too hot for a straight jacket, people will have to take their chances today ☕️😜 🤣

Happy Monday morning everyone. Welcome to Monday Musings. I hope all you moms had a wonderful Mother’s Day!! Our kids go to a different church from us, but one of my “adopted” grandsons made me a bouquet of flowers at the flower table that was set up by the church. He made my day. How’s your stitching going? I hope you made lots of wonderful goodies this week! Now, let’s move on to the good stuff!!
Here’s how my story ended for the week of 5/3/26- 5/9/26:
- Finish stitching Lassie. DONE!! Isn’t she cute?!! I love that milk can.
- Begin the quilting of Sunshine Cove Center medallion and begin stitching the center scene for the block, if time permits. DONE!! Quilting was begun and I only lack the outer border and sun triangles finishing it up.
- Begin trimming the blocks to size for the quilt, if time permits. NOPE!! Didn’t have time to start trimming.
- Whatever suits my fancy! DONE!! We had a sick grandson three days this week, so we pampered him. The other grandson had a field trip to Atlanta and the granddaughter had a national archery competition in Louisville, KY…so two were on a bus for a lot of hours. At least the schools did charter buses for them and they didn’t have to ride a school bus for hours on end. I also fused the next Highland Heifer to stitch on at night while watching TV.
Plans for the week of 5/11- 5/17/26:
- Work on stitching Ginger, the newest Highland Heifer.
- Finish quilting Sunshine Cove center medallion.
- Cut appliques and begin stitching the center scene for the medallion.
- Whatever suits my fancy.

How cool to get to go to live plays. We’ve been to a few for 2 of our grands but mostly it’s sports — soccer and softball this year. They both look so happy. I’m waiting to see another cow…. I need to check to see if you snuck the second one in on a day other than Monday!
Sunshine Cove is so vibrant and beautiful. It sounds like the kiddos are staying very busy. The end of the school year is very busy. It is so wonderful that the school offers those opportunities and programs. Have a wonderful week, Brenda.
My goodness you’ve been busy. What kind of dance does M do? Your grandkids are just adorable. Hope you have a fantastic week!
I vaguely remember the frantic end of school year energy. It’s been awhile since our sons were school age and we are not grandparents, so now the months flow from one to another and I am not as aware of the school calendar that used to rule our lives. Love seeing those pictures of your pirate and your dancer! And yes, mitered corners are scary the first time but after you do a few more of them you will wonder what you were ever so afraid of. Everything gets easier with practice.
That Sunshine Cove is gorgeous so far! Looking forward to seeing the center done.
It is sad when those kids’ activities come to an end. They are such fun to attend but time flies doesn’t it?
D is stunning and M looks radiant. Wishing you a happy week. Lookign forward to LAssie.
