Monday Musings 5/4/26

Happy Monday morning everyone. Welcome to Monday Musings. Welcome to May!!! Oh my Goodness! April went by in a poof. I hope you all had a wonderful week of stitching. It seems weather all over the states has gone a bit berserk again this week and also for the coming week, and the south is no exception – days with 20 degree or more swings, but thankfully a good bit of rain which was much needed. I hope you are all enjoying our fickle spring. Now, let’s move on to the good stuff!!

Here’s how my story ended for the week of 4/27/26- 5/3/26:

  • Finish stitching Lassie…hopefully! PARTIAL!! She is ALMOST finished and I will have a photo for you next week.
  • I hope to stitch a few pieces of the Christmas barn, but we will see. First priority right now is Lassie for hand work!! NOPE! Still working on Lassie. I will probably put the barn aside for a while.
  • Sunshine Cove – borders for center medallion. DONE!! I made my first mitered borders on this center medallion. It was scary but following Sarah’s directions, it came together nicely. Not perfect, but I’m OK with it! I’m really ready to get this finished and begin stitching the blocks together. The colors aren’t perfect because the lighting isn’t the best, but close!
  • Whatever suits my fancy. There are two family events coming up – Thursday night is D’s final theater performance, and Saturday is M’s dance recital. Plus, I have a dental appointment Thursday. So, we will see what else I can squeeze in! End of school year is a busy time!! DONE!! Thursday was a busy day with the dentist, then we went to lunch on the way home and stopped by the jewelers for an inspection and cleaning as well. Thursday night D had his final performance. He was Captain Hook in their class play Peter Pan. He had a blast and did a great job. It’s sad that in a way that this is his last theater performance, but I’m not sorry I won’t have to sit in that cold auditorium and freeze my hiney off anymore! LOL Saturday was the girlie’s dance recital, so she will have a few weeks break, then has Nationals in Panama City in June, before she starts back in the fall. I can’t believe she’s been dancing 14 years! My how time flies. She and Peeps have a “pose” together every recital!

Plans for the week of 5/4- 5/10/26:

  • Finish stitching Lassie.
  • Begin the quilting of Sunshine Cove Center medallion and begin stitching the center scene for the block, if time permits.
  • Begin trimming the blocks to size for the quilt, if time permits.
  • Whatever suits my fancy!
