Hi everyone! Welcome to my day and the final day of the Virtual Christmas Cookie Exchange hosted by Carol of Just Let Me Quilt! I always look forward to participating in this hop each year – seeing all the Christmas projects and gathering all the great recipes!! Thanks, Carol!!
I remade a previous pattern in new colors and with a new center. It is called the Christmas Cookie Mat/Octagonal Table Runner and the original can be found here. You can make this for any occasion and add embroidery, as I did in this one, or applique as in the original. I think it would be great in patriotic colors for July 4th! Here is my project.
The embroidery design is from OESD and is part of the Holiday Cheer collection by Shannon Roberts. The sparkly fabrics are from two curated bundles (Silver Frost Metallic and Christmas Joy Red) from Gardensong Fabrics. When I saw that shiny, sparkly fabric, I knew I had found what I was looking for! I am not affiliated with them, but they are great to work with, provide quick turnaround, and would appreciate your business. I hope you’ll check them out.
Due to health issues this week, I wasn’t able to bake any cookies, but I do have a fantastic recipe for you!! It is the Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookie from Best Cookie Recipes! And here is a photo from the website to tempt you! Don’t those look awesome??!!! I would love mine with coffee, but you might prefer a glass of milk!
Now I will share with you my easy peasy hack! I actually bought peanut butter refrigerated cookie dough and will use it instead of making the chocolate chip cookies. You could buy chocolate chip cookie dough too!
After all…it’s not Christmas without the cookies!
I hope you will visit my fellow bloggers today to see what goodies they have to share with you and leave them a sweet comment. We all love hearing from you! Here is the schedule:

What a cute tabletopper (you can’t go wrong with sparkly fabric, right?)! Those cookies look pretty tasty, and a great idea subbing premade dough, too! Sorry to hear about the health issues, hope you are feeling better soon!
Merry Christmas! The table mat is lovely, and those cookies look awesome.

I love the table topper and those cookies look so good. I love your hack and think that makes it even better….two premade cookies/dough married into one. Feel better my friend!
That cookie is a wow, that’s a lot of flavor packed into one cookie. Your matt is adorable!
I hope you are feeling better! Your cookie mat is beautiful – love the octagonal shape, and the embroidery is beautiful. Premade cookie dough rocks! Peanut butter with Oreo sounds fantastic. 😀
The table mat is lovely–the embroidered center is perfect! Those cookies look downright decadent. I can think of a bunch of people who would like those! Your hack is a great idea too! Thanks, Brenda!
Great Christmas idea for those cookies. I think I’d have to buy the vanilla ones, because I’m the one person in America who doesn’t like Oreos! but I love the stuffing the cookie idea, and with the peanut butter dough … yum! That table topper is wonderful, and I have many great hand embroidery designs that would be perfect in the middle. I hope you are soon feeling great again!
Your cookie mat is so cute with the embroidery. I know my husband would be gobbling up those cookies. I’ll have to give them a go. I hope you feel better soon.
Your quilt is sew cute! Love the saying. I will definitely give that cookie recipe a try. It sounds yummy!
Hope you feel better soon. That is great fabric, it would make a beautiful tree skirt. Love your finish.
Your quilt is darling, Brenda. I really love the pop of the golden sparkly fabric . It would look fabulous in patriotic colors. Oh my the cookies sound delicious. I like the idea of buying premade dough. Have a great weekend.
Such a pretty sparkly cookie mat! I hope you are all better now. Hugs! Merry Christmas!
Oh my goodness those cookies!! Yum!!! Your topper is very cute too. 🙂 Merry Christmas!
Those cookies with the Oreos look fabulous. I’m sure they have NO calories. Hope you’re feeling better. The table topper is sweet and I do think it would look awesome in July 4th colors. BTW, I almost gave up on finding this posting as the link I had took me to a page with “newest postings” and this wasn’t there. I continued to clink and found this. Just lettting you know in case you wondered where the comments were.
Your Christmas mat is beautiful in those fabrics! Of course, it wouldn’t be Christmas without cookies and those look totally over-the-top delicious! Thank you for sharing and I hope you’re feeling better. xo
