If you are not coffee, chocolate or bacon, I’m going to need you to go away. ☕️😜

Happy Monday morning!!! Welcome to Monday Musings! Whew, seems like we blinked and poof, another year is gone! I hope you all had a wonderful New Year’s Day. It’s been gray and drizzly here several days this week, although fairly warm for this time of year. If it’s cold where you are…y’all stay warm and toasty and keep on stitching! Now let’s move on to the good stuff!!
Here’s how my story ended for the week of 12/29 – 1/4/26:
- Finish stitching Secret Quilt #3 into a flimsy! DONE!! And, the flimsy is on the frame and half-way quilted! Binding has been cut for it, but not sewn together yet.
- Hopefully get started quilting the three catalog quilts. DONE!! I will finish #1 today and start on #2 after backing is made.
- Whatever cranks my tractor! DONE!! On Friday we had lunch at my favorite Mexican restaurant with our daughter and the kiddos. The 30th our boys turned 14, and while this isn’t their birthday lunch, it was fun to hang out with them as they went to Nashville on Saturday for their birthday trip, to the Opryland Hotel Ice Show. We will celebrate them, hopefully this coming Saturday, weather permitting.
Plans for the week of 1/5/25 – 1/11/26:
- Make backing for Quilt #2 and get it quilted.
- Make backing for Quilt #3 and get it quilted.
- Bind all three quilts and send them on their merry way to California for catalog photographs.
- Begin work on my SAHRR quilt (see below for info!)
- Whatever suits my fancy.
Here is some quilty inspiration shared last week!

Aww Happy Birthday to the boys. They grow up way too fast. It sounds like they had a grand time going to Nashville. Looks like you have a busy week ahead of you. Wishing the best as you check off your list. Hugs

Happy New Year Brenda. Thank you for hosting us for another year of Monday Musings. It looks like you had a sewingly good time last week and Mexican for a lunch celebration is perfect.
I had to laugh at the opening statement – I might have said that to the people in my house this morning!
Lunch with your fam at a Mexican restaurant sounds wonderful. Hope the weather holds together long enough for your family to celebrate those 14-yo boys!
Oh, Linda, it was delicious! They make their own tortillas and chips and the chips are so thin and crisp! I always bring home a bag and some of their fresh salsa when we go! I’m hoping they aren’t tied up with something else on Saturday. These kids are always busy! LOL Have a great week.
