Fresh week, fresh brew, fresh you – let’s do this Monday! 🆕☕

Happy Monday morning!!! Welcome to Monday Musings! I hope you have all had a great week and got a lot of fun sewing projects done! It’s been nice here last week. This coming week it will be much cooler (for us!) with down right chilly evenings. It really is beginning to feel like fall. Now let’s move on to the good stuff!!
Here’s how my story ended for the week of 10/13- 10/19/25:
- Guild meeting today (Monday). DONE!! We had a great program and fellowship, along with inspiring show and tell!
- Make backing and get it on the frame. DONE!! I even got some stitching done on it! I watched an inspiring live presentation this past week from Handi Quilter and decided I will custom quilt this one with rulers, FMQ, and some computerized motifs. Our guild Quilt Fest is next June, so I am taking my time and hope it turns out well enough to compete!
- Sew Day with Friends on Wednesday. DONE!! I cut out a lot of 6-1/2″ blocks from shirts and had some good visit time!
- Whatever suits my fancy. DONE!! Mostly working on arranging and rearranging so I can get my chair in and out of the house easier. Not much other than that and a meeting with our financial advisor on Chicken Legs retirement, for whenever!!
Plans for the week of 10/20- 10/26/25:
- Work on the big quilt!
- Clean machine and maybe start a new project??
- Do so more rearranging and cleaning. I am stacking a lot of it for Quilt Fest next year to raise money for the guild.
- Whatever cranks my tractor!
Here is some quilty inspiration shared last week!

Hi Brenda, it sounds like you’ve had a good week! I hope that you’ll be giving us sneak previews of your big quilt. It sounds like it’s going to be awesome!!!!
Brenda I hope you enjoy your cooler weather. I can’t believe it’s this late in October and we have not yet had snow and there’s none in the 10 day forecast. We might set a record since we always have snow on the ground for Halloween. Thank you for hosting us on Monday Musings. I’ll see you on Wednesday. 😉 Carol @ Quilt Schmilt
I attended a couple classes by Julia Quiltoff using rulers etc and found it fascinating but I didn’t really get the hang of it–yet. I took off with my digital quilting and have been so busy with it that I haven’t made it back to playing with the rulers and other FMQ. I really need to! I think I will find it so fun!
I love that you are inspired by a new video and will take your time on this large quilt. I do hope you enjoy the process. I am often in such a hurry but love it when I do take the time to do all the right things with my quilt. I am sure yours will be gorgeous and ready to enter!
