Did you know that coffee can be used to fuel cars? Researchers have actually made biodiesel out of coffee oil. So yeah, it powers you AND potentially your car! 🚗☕️

Happy Monday morning!!! AND HAPPY DECEMBER!! Welcome to Monday Musings! I can’t believe another year is almost over…have you started your Christmas stitching or are you already finished?!! It’s crazy how time is flying right on by. December is such a busy month, but I hope you will take time from the hustle and bustle to just enjoy the season, family, and friends. Life is short. Now let’s move on to the good stuff!!
Here’s how my story ended for the week of 11/24- 11/30/25:
- Keep learning more about Big Mama Nina. DONE!! Still learning and enjoying. The thing I loved learning most this week was about the pinpoint laser that shows me exactly where my needle will land! It came in handy when I had to unsew some blocks and made partial seams. It helped make sure my needle landed in the exact place it needed to be!
- Finish my December Virtual Christmas Cookie Exchange project. DONE!! I’ll be posting that on Wednesday during the blog hop.
- Get secret sewing quilt #1 to a flimsy and cut out the next one. NOPE!! Between vacation cleaning and unsewing the first one, I just didn’t have time.
- Whatever suits my fancy. DONE!! Chicken Legs was on vacation this week and we spent time doing some much needed cleaning…especially cleaning out the pantry. We also visited some friends and gifted them the old Christmas tree as we got a new skinny one!! Here is is! I don’t have ornaments on it yet (except for the one of our daughter’s first Christmas) but I kinda love it like it is! I may leave it. If I get to the store to get some ornaments I’m having a hard time deciding between red or gold small ones. Suggestions?

Plans for the week of 12/24- 12/7/25:
- Finish unsewing and resewing Secret Quilt #1.
- Post for Virtual Christmas Cookie Exchange Blog Hop.
- Cut out Secret Quilt #2.
- Play with embroidery unit of Big Mama Nina.
- Whatever cranks my tractor!

Your tree is so pretty as it is!! Love those lights!!
Happy December, Brenda. Your pencil tree is gorgeous! Did you think it looked a lot different compared to having your big one there? I did when I 1st put up my pencil tree a few years ago. LOL. This year I moved mine to the hall . I am still tweaking it though. My daughter decorated hers in a combination of red and gold balls this year. It is nice to see a comeback of some of the traditional colors. I wish you a very lovely week. Hugs.
Thanks so much, Melisa! Yes, it definitely looked different as the old one was about three to four times it’s size! LOL I’m thinking about red ones right now…maybe gold…maybe both!! Have a great week! Hugs.
Your new tree is delightful! I kind of want to get one with lights already on it. Glad you have having fun with Big Mama Nina! I am curious about the coffee turning to fuel…but not a surprise as I slurp down my cuppa!
I like your skinny tree! We had a tall skinny tree many years ago when we had a corner in our living room that just begged for one. It was hard to decorate because it was so tall, but I loved it. Glad you are having fun with Big Mama Nina!
Your reference to coffee as a part of biodiesel leads to “how do they figure that out?” I’m reading The Salmon Cannon and the Levitating Frog by Carly Anne York. It’s about the way that seemingly silly/frivolous scientific research can lead to real problem-solving discoveries. The writing style is lively and the information is fascinating.
