I was so happy that Carol and Joan came out of retirement for the Halloween and Christmas blog hops they’ve sponsored for many years. This month is Carol’s turn with the Virtual Christmas Cookie Exchange Blog Hop. This is always one of my favorite hops of the year. I love Christmas and seeing all the inspiration and gathering recipes is always appealing to me!
I recently took a class at my local Bernina dealer and had the opportunity to sew on the new B990 and, of course, one followed me home!!!! Aren’t I the fortunate one??!!! During this class we made a small table topper, stitching it together, as well as adding a backing, batting, and quilting it! We used the pinpoint laser to position all the quilting motifs perfectly and I love how it looks! And, as it turned out, they “gave” us the kit in Christmas colors, so I thought this would be great for my Virtual Christmas Cookie Exchange project. I brought it home, trimmed it up, added binding, and here it is!

I love this little quilt and had so much fun making it! It has now been gifted to one of my favorite families!! And now for a couple of yummy recipes!
The first is from Taste of Home and sounds wonderful. I think I will be making these for our family Christmas!
And the next is from Paula Deen. We love Gooey Butter Cake so I’m sure we will love this one too! And it’s SO easy!!
I hope you will visit my fellow bloggers today and see what goodies they’ve prepared for you! Here is the schedule, and on this POST you can find the schedule for the entire week!

Hi Brenda, that little sample is really cute and perfect for this event! I am so envious of that laser – I don’t want to machine, just the laser to attach to mine! Take care 🙂

That’s a greast little table topper Brenda, and coming home with the 990 is a wish come true kind of an event. Congratulations.! Cookies and candy ,bith part of what we see as essential ingredients in our holiday celebrations. Well, i’d say you’ve got that covered. I’ve made lots of recipes from A Taste of Home, and never have I been disappointed. It’s so much fun to dig into a new recipe, or a new pattern. Thanks for sharing with us Brenda, and best wishes for a wonderful season of love.
