Believe in yourself… and coffee (in other words, it’s OK to sparkle your way through a Monday!!) ☕️✨🌟✨

Happy Monday morning everyone. Welcome to Monday Musings. We are in the typical August “dog days of summer” here in the south. Hot, humid, with pop up storms just about every afternoon! Our heat indices have been in the 104-112 range here! I hope you are all saying cool/warm, depending on where you are. The heat and humidity here makes for great quality stitching time!! Now, let’s move on to the good stuff!!
Here’s how my story ended for the week of 8/10/26- 8/16/26:
- Finish stitching on Heather and hopefully begin Belle! DONE!! Heather is complete and Belle is in the works! Isn’t that sweet face adorable?! These flowers on Heather kind of threw me for a loop-literally!! They are very pretty, but I had never done a stitch like this and could not find a YoubieTubie to show me how. Thankfully, Vicki posted the stepout in the Facebook page. They are no where near perfect, but I like the way they turned out!
- Jennifer from Curlicue Creations’ blog hop is this week. My day is Thursday and I will have a new pattern release for it! I love her new signature collection…especially the name of it!! DONE!! This pattern uses 2-1/2″ strips. It comes in two sizes and can be purchased HERE.

- Continue working on stockings. DONE!! I got both the main elements of the stockings done on my embroidery machine and ready to hand stitch to the stocking. I just need to stitch down the year on the cuff, add some cute embellishments and they will be ready.
- Hopefully get started quilting the fabric for my Stitcher’s Suitcase for Little Princess. NOPE!! Maybe this week?!
- Little Princess is ready to be picked up today from her spa treatment. I’m anxious to get her back and play with her some more. DONE!! We didn’t make it Monday, but picked her up Thursday and sewed my first Dutchman’s Puzzle block on her! I had fun stitching with her, and here is the block!

- Begin cutting and stitching my blocks for the new Marigold Mystery at Meadow Mist Designs. Check it out HERE. DONE!! I cut and stitched the first four blocks, Dutchman’s Puzzle. Now I am working on the second set of blocks for this month. Here are the fabrics I chose and the first set of blocks. These use the same fabrics but are arranged differently. I had this layer cake in my stash for many years and am happy to use it. I think it’s so pretty!
- Whatever cranks my tractor! DONE!! On Tuesday we had the kiddos over for breakfast/brunch since they started school last Thursday. And of course, I have to share their first day of school pics with you!
Here they are with their friend Allie. She and Madelyn have been friends since kindergarten and dance with the same dance company. I love that the the dance company has a special class for these precious girls. M and the boys have a heart for special needs children, and that makes me so proud of them. Dalton is the one with glasses and Braden is the one with all the hair! One of our daughter’s friends was behind him and some girls in the hall at school one day and overheard them talking about his hair and just wanting to touch it! I think it’s hilarious. Our hippie boy is literally Chicken Legs Jr. When we first met, Gary’s hair was about as long as B’s and I couldn’t believe he was a preacher’s son!!! None of the ones I knew had hair that long! Now, almost 49 years later, he can’t grow it that long and it’s thinned out a lot. His is actually curlier than B’s…when it is long. B got our daughter’s hair – same color, thickness and more body with a little curl. M got the blond and the curl and D, well, he got his daddy’s hair!!!
Plans for the week of 8/17- 8/23/26:
- Continue working on Belle.
- Work on stockings…maybe.
- Maybe start quilting the fabric for the ByAnnie’s carrying bag for Little Princess.
- Cut and stitch the second set of blocks for Marigold Mystery this month.
- Whatever suits my fancy!!

Heather is just adorable and you have some super cute grandkids! Looking forward to your quilted Belle.
Well done with Heather. Adorable. Those loop stitches are interesting. However did you keep them being tangled up.
The photos are very sweet. What a lovely friendship.
