Happy Monday morning everyone. Welcome to Monday Musings. We haven’t had a break in the heat yet, but hopefully this week will be different??!! At least we’re supposed to get a little rain, but then the humidity kicks in! Hopefully you are all saying cool/warm, depending on where you are. This is great weather for quality stitching time!! Now, let’s move on to the good stuff!!
Here’s how my story ended for the week of 8/17/26- 8/23/26:
- Continue working on Belle. DONE!! Not finished, but still stitching!!
- Work on stockings…maybe. DONE!! Got some buttons and found my DMC floss, so a work in progress!
- Maybe start quilting the fabric for the ByAnnie’s carrying bag for Little Princess. DONE!! This is Tula Pink fabric. The front is called Coral Reef Friends & Anemones in Ultraviolet Purple, and the brightly colored houndstooth is Cosmic from the Untamed collection, which will be the lining. It’s ready to cut into pieces and seal the edges!
- Cut and stitch the second set of blocks for Marigold Mystery this month. DONE!! Here are the five star blocks and I’m caught up with all the blocks for August!!
- Whatever suits my fancy!! DONE!! With all the heat and humidity, I decided it was time for a hair cut…and a hair cut I did get! It’s been years since my hair was shorter than shoulder length! So far I’m enjoying it. I told my hair dresser that if I didn’t like it, it would always grow back out! LOL
Plans for the week of 8/24- 8/30/26:
- Continue stitching on Belle!
- Continue working on stockings.
- Begin cutting pieces for my Stitcher’s Suitcase for Little Princess.
- Sew Day with friends this Wednesday – YAY!
- Whatever cranks my tractor!

I just want to know – how short did you go? I love a change.
Well, Sue, it’s pretty short – no longer anywhere near shoulder length! LOL It’s what I call a short shag, though I think I may go back and get a bit cut off the top and sides. I have thick hair, but it’s very fine and I need volume with a cut this short.
Haircuts! Just got one, and it’s following the Hate-It-The-First-Week, Like-It-The-Second-Week rule. Happily I am in the second week. Love the Marigold project with your choice of that red for the background. An interesting turn that is fun and unexpected!

You did good to move all your projects in the right direction. I think you should post a photo of your new hair do!
A couple years ago, after growing my hair past my shoulders for the first time in decades, I got a chin-length haircut. I know that I look best in a shorter length, but I missed my pony tail, so I have grown it back! I bet you look cute in yours – I’ll be interested to see if you grow it back. 😀
For right now, I’m happy with it, and it’s definitely cooler, though when long I did wear it a pony tail a lot!
