Happy Monday morning everyone!! Welcome to Monday Musings. I think fall…at least temporarily…has finally arrived. Our temps were a bit cooler this past week with less humidity. It’s been very nice! We did have a microburst one day and the rain was heavy and the lightening really bad. It sounded like it struck just outside our house at one point. I was sitting in my recliner beside a glass door that goes out onto our side porch and the door popped. I almost jumped out of my chair!! What have you guys been up to this week? I’ll catch you up on the happenings in my studio and then please share what is going on in your world! Thanks for being here! Now, let’s move on to the good stuff!!
Here’s how my story ended for the week of 9/21/26- 9/27/26:
- Make background for the last Highland Heifers block which features a Mama and baby! All the other backgrounds have been a solid piece. I really like this one and will be fun to make. DONE!! I should have gotten a photo…but I didn’t! It has three four inch saw tooth star blocks in it!
- Make Marigold Mystery blocks. NOPE!! I spent free time this week working on a third stocking. At QOV sew day, our VP of programs, and person in charge of the stockings for the hospital, came to our table and asked if we’d do one more. She had four left of the 40 she committed us for, so we took on an extra and one of us two extras! Here is the photo of the “parts” for the MM blocks!
- Tuesday is QOV sew day for the guild and we are planning to attend. DONE!! We had a lot of members show up and some cut, some sewed blocks, some sewed blocks into flimsies, and some pressed. Overall it was a great day and we accomplished a lot.
- Wednesday may or may not be sew day with friends. It will depend on what time the director has to leave for her MD appointment. NOPE!! This was her last appointment, so Wednesday we should be getting back to our normal gathering, hopefully.
- Whatever cranks my tractor! DONE!! Just work on the third stocking. It’s almost finished and will deliver it to the coordinator on Wednesday.
Plans for the week of 9/28- 10/4/26:
- Continue stitching on Nellie and Lucy.
- Work on Marigold Mystery blocks.
- If time permits play with a new flying geese unit, Stroked Flying Geese. More about that later in the post.
- Sew Day with my Stitchin’ Sisters, then take stockings to coordinator.
- Whatever suits my fancy!!
