SAHRR Round Four – a Gaggle of Geese!!

by | Feb 19, 2023 | 10 comments

Welcome to round four of SAHRR 2023! Do you love flying geese? If so, this round is just for you!! I think flying geese are so much fun. I started this round by making 16 flying geese units, sewn in groups of four.

It is so quick to cut flying geese with AccuQuilt! I used the 8″ Qube, dies #4 and #5 to make these units. They measure 2 x 4. There are many ways to make flying geese units, four at a time, eight at a time, no waste method, etc. but this is my favorite way!

After stitching the units together, I cut some 1 1/2″ strips and added them to the geese, and here is my round four!

I am still using my Island Batik stash builders and “scraps” from previous projects. The green in the outer strip is an Island Batik solid from the half yard bundles of foundations, neutrals, and blenders we receive in each of our shipments! Isn’t it lovely?!! Pretty soon all of our cars will be that same lime green color, when pollen season starts! UGH!

This week I’ll be linking up with Anja on her website. Check out all the other participants’ quilts on her blog here. Have a great week! Until next time…

This is very cool. The asymmetrical design makes your quilt look very modern indeed. I love the striped border, it’s like the geese are airplanes and the stripes are the jet trails.
