Today I share with you my projects for the two monthly challenges for June! The color of the month is my favorite – PURPLE!!
First is the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. I was SEW excited when the color purple was announced. I have tons of purple scraps, but decided on these for my crazy quilt block. Again I had fun playing and learning how to use my fancy schmancy built in stitches! I love that fabric on the left. It is from a fat quarter of Tula Pink fabrics that I used in my Wonderland quilt, which was our guild challenge three years ago. I added some grunge dot scraps, some batiks and the solid I think is thatched!
Next up is my Table Scraps Challenge. I actually made this little table topper a few years ago, but it is one of my favorites! It is in an e-book from Annie’s Craft Store called A Year of Flower Blocks. I couldn’t find a premade doily to fit so I made the doily! A first for me, and so far…the last! LOL But who knows that opportunity might arise again one day! If you’d like to hear more about the making of this topper – and see my favorite little helpers (RIP little Yogi) you can check it out here. Lots of purple scraps!!
So there are my pretty purple scraps for the month! Thanks for stopping by. See you soon with my Crafter’s Edge project!
Today I’ll be linking up with the RSC21 Challenge at Super Scrappy and Joy at The Joyful Quilter!
Pretty table topper! Love the crazy block as well.
Brenda your table topper is lovely, and you certainly didn’t need to buy a doily, yours is perfect.
Hi Brenda! Oh, your purple RSC block turned out just great. As did your topper, although I’m sorry you lost your little helper. {{Hugs}} a bunch for you. ~smile~ Roseanne
It’s fun to have a reason to use all the fancy stitches we have on our sewing machines. What kind of machine do you have? That block is the perfect use! And the table topper is so pretty. Sorry you little helper isn’t with you any longer.
Your purple table topper and Rainbow scrap challenge projects are just delightful! One of our granddaughter’s favorite colors is purple and I am always on the lookout for things in purple that she might like. The built in stitches in your new machine are awesome and really add a super special touch to your purple crazy quilt rainbow block.
Wow both are so pretty!
That’s such a sweet table topper, Brenda. Thanks for sharing with the Table Scraps Link Party!
