Monday Musings 12/29/25

Happy Monday morning!!! Welcome to Monday Musings! Wow, can y’all believe it’s the LAST MONDAY of 2025? Where did the year go? It seems yesterday we were wishing each other a happy New Year, and here we are again!! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. It was in the 70s here on Christmas day and most of the week, and now today it’s rainy with a high of 44 – tomorrow the temp will be lower. Crazy mixed up weather! LOL If it’s cold where you are…y’all stay warm and toasty and keep on stitching! Now let’s move on to the good stuff!!

Here’s how my story ended for the week of 12/22 – 12/28/25:

  • Begin piecing Secret Quilt #3. DONE!! I’m about half way through with the piecing.
  • Christmas – cooking and fun!! DONE!! We had a lovely time and sooooo much food. I tell myself each year I need to make less, but somehow I never do. I guess that’s just a southern thing. Growing up my mom always cooked a lot because invariably someone unexpected would be sitting down at our table with us. It seems each year we get the same requests. I made sweet potato casserole, corn casserole, macaroni and cheese, cornbread dressing, squash casserole, and a gingerbread cake. Chicken Legs fried turkey breasts, did the ham, and baked his mom’s famous chocolate pies. We had a great lunch and the kids came back Friday night and ate again…and we STILL have food left. It goes in the garbage today! We got a family photo and my what a difference in the one from four years ago!

  • Whatever suits my fancy. DONE!! I did get a gingerbread snow globe ornament made for my daughter’s stocking as they had a candy themed tree this year. And, I made a cute ITH Christmas Envelope to hold a Christmas gift for M’s fella. Two days of cooking wore me out so I vegged out the rest of the weekend.

Plans for the week of 12/29/25 – 1/4/26:

  • Finish stitching Secret Quilt #3 into a flimsy!
  • Hopefully get started quilting the three catalog quilts.
  • Whatever cranks my tractor!

I apologize for not making it to all the blogs last week. It was another busy week with cooking and cleaning and visiting. Here are all the entries from last week, if you would like to visit the posts!

Hi Brenda. I’m so happy I had time to link up this week. It’s nice to hear of your Christmas and see the photos of the family. What a difference time makes, but everyone looks happy and full of joy being together. Thank you for hosting us on Monday Musings and for joining us on To Do Tuesday. Happy New Year to you and yours.

You have a beautiful family Brenda. The grands sure did change, but the rest of you look the same.

Lovely family pic. You don’t look a bit different from the previous one. I can’t imagine all the cooking you did! Lucky for us our kids have taken over the hosting duties for T-day and Christmas. We all bring dishes so no one has to cook for days! (Unless they want to!) On to the exciting new year! May it treat you well.
