“Monday is the coffee bean of life: it looks tough on the outside, but once you grind it with a little bit of caffeine, it transforms you into a semi-functional life form ready to face the week!”☕️☕️

Happy Monday morning!!! Welcome to Monday Musings! I hope you have all had a great week. It’s been a busy one here, but I think a good bit was accomplished! On to the good stuff!!
Here’s how my story ended for the week of 3/17 – 3/23/25:
- Finish quilting March IB project. DONE!! Here is a photo. Check out a closer look at the quilting on my post HERE. Last fall I took a Graffiti quilting class with Karlee Porter. I just love her work and hope to one day be able to somewhat reproduce some of her designs. I enjoyed TRYING to do that with this quilt since it was definitely NOT right for an all over motif with the embroidery blocks. These are some of my designs I digitized in years past.

- Clean Sally thoroughly! DONE!! Sally is ready to rock and roll into next month’s project!!
- Finish putting away the dies and sweep the studio before beginning next project. DONE!! YAY!! I had dies from five different Qubes scattered EVERYWHERE!! Glad they are all residing in their home now!
- Wash and pack for our trip to the beach to eat some seafood and check out some quilt shops on the 24th. NOPE!! Unfortunately, we had to change our plans due to a death in the family. Chicken Legs’ aunt passed away and his cousin asked him to be a paul bearer on Wednesday (in the middle of our trip) so we will do that at a later time. Family is more important.
- Whatever cranks my tractor!! DONE!! Well, Graffiti quilting was cranking that old tractor last week and definitely took a lot of my week.
Plans for the week of 3/24 – 3/30/25:
- Begin April Island Batik project. Next month is Drunkard’s path blocks. Curved piecing isn’t really my thing, but I have an AccuQuilt die for that and have designed the quilt. Now I just need to cut it out and stitch it together. Here is my sample block but these aren’t the fabrics I’ll be using. I think it turned out pretty well for only about the third curved piecing block I’ve ever done!

- SAHRR Parade. See my next post!!
- Whatever suits my fancy. We may take a day trip after the funeral. We’ll see.
Here is some quilty inspiration shared last week!
Thanks to everyone who linked up!
Now it’s your turn to link up projects you’re working on!
It’s TIME for the SAHRR Parade!

Head over to Gail’s blog post to link up your SAHRR for the Parade! A flimsy is acceptable for prize eligibility, but quilted is even better! My post is after this one and I’ll be linking up with Gail HERE.

I am so sorry to hear about your DH’s aunt, Brenda. I wish you family strength as you all go through this difficult time. Aah those darling bunnies. This quilt steals my heart. Hugs and Blessings.
Congrats on your finish! Those embroidered bunnies are so sweet; just in time for Easter. I am sorry for your husband’s loss and hope you get to take that trip soon. Also, that drunkard’s path test block looks pretty good to me and I’m looking forward to seeing your challenge project!
I am sorry you had to change your vacation plans, but family is important. I am so glad you are getting things prepped for the next project….I am in the same boat! I am away for a few days at the end of the week, but have two to begin before I head off!
I’m sorry about your husband’s Aunt. Hopefully you can reschedule your trip soon. Your finished quilt is beautiful. Hope you have a great week!
Your quilt is so pretty, Brenda! I can’t wait to see what you design for your Drunkard’s Path quilt. I am not a fan of curved piecing either.
