Monday Musings 3/25/24

Mondays are tough only for those people, who don’t know how to spend them cheerfully. Get up and have fun today!

Welcome to Monday Musings!! I hope you have all had a great week and got a lot accomplished. I had a great week! We trekked down to the Gulf and had some awesome seafood and rode the shoreline and just enjoyed ourselves for a few days. It was a little cool, but not too bad, and sunny until we started back home. It was overcast, which makes driving better, and thankfully no rain!

So… THIS happened a few weeks ago! I can’t believe my baby girl is 15 already. Look out roads, here she comes…with adult supervision, of course! LOL

But then again, when I looked at her last dance competition photo, it almost made me cry! She was just a baby covered in her favorite quilt, being rocked in GiGi’s arms last year it seems! I’m so proud of the beautiful young lady she is becoming. And so smart! As of right now, her goal is to become a doctor. When she entered 9th grade she originally thought she would be a child psychologist, but has changed her mind and is now even going to take a class or two this summer to catch up to where she needs to be on this career path. They just grow up too quickly.

Before I start crying, let me pull my big girl panties back up and put that spark back in my eye, turn my frown upside down, and share with you how my week has been! For the week of 3/18 – 3/24/24:

  • Give it a Whirl Blog Hop on Thursday! DONE!! You can read about this project HERE, and there is a tutorial for the 3D pinwheels HERE.
  • Go to the Gulf for a few days to have some fresh seafood! DONE!!
  • Finish third part of Island Batik March project. NOPE!
  • Work on April’s Funky Friends Factory Project, if time permits. DONE!! I have the pattern printed out and fabrics almost chosen!
  • Whatever suits my fancy! DONE!! Not much else – just enjoyed our little vacay!

For the week of 3/25 – 3/31/24:

  • Finish third part of Island Batik March project and post.
  • Work on April’s Funky Friends Factory Project.
  • Try to get in a sew day with friends on Wednesday!
  • Clean a bit in the studio.
  • Start thinking about that May paper piecing project for IB – not my favorite thing to do, but I will try a method that Quilting Gail taught a few of us and hopefully it won’t be too bad!
  • I think that’s enough for this week! Well, except for feeding the zoo as the kiddos are at Disney this week for spring break.

Your granddaughter is not only beautiful but smart, and she dances! I know you are so proud of her, and yes they grow up so fast. Your 3-D pinwheel quilt is so cute!

I totally get how you feel. My Brady turned 15 last summer and it only seems a minute since I was giving him his first bath at home because my daughter was too scared to do it but she took over after a few minutes. Brady loved the water then and has ever since!
