Hello, Monday. We meet again (and I brought backup) ☕️💼

Happy Monday morning!!! Welcome to Monday Musings! I hope you have all had a wonderful week. We had a great trip to the Gulf, but, unfortunately, I “did” something to my “bad” (worse of the two) knee on the trip home and have been nursing an extremely painful and swollen right knee since we got home. I’ve been “enjoying” the RIE treatment since Friday when I tried to walk and couldn’t without a walker to assist. (Yes, I know it’s supposed to be RICE, but I skipped the C (compression) as it was too much pain. I did find one beautiful quilt shop and, yes, brought home some new additions to my stash! LOL I’ll share some photos later. Now, let’s move on to the good stuff!!
Here’s how my story ended for the week of 7/7- 7/13/25:
- Finish Unboxing video/slideshow when I return home later this week. IN PROGRESS! I have everything ready to put in the slide show when I can sit long enough to get it done!
- Whatever cranks my tractor! Keeping things loose this week! DONE!! Well, I can’t say it “cranked” my tractor but the RIE treatment is the only other thing I’ve done since we got home late Thursday.
Plans for the week of 7/14 – 7/20/25:
- Get this knee back to it’s “normal” pain and the swelling down.
- Hopefully pull together the unboxing video/slideshow.
- Maybe work on some cross stitch or EPP while I’m keeping the knee elevated and iced.
- Whatever suits my fancy.
Unfortunately, I did not get around to visiting the blogs this week as I usually do. My old laptop is on it’s last leg and can’t be updated to Windows 11, so I couldn’t sit and peruse the websites from my recliner or bed! A new one is on my anniversary or Christmas list! LOL Anyway, I will reshare all the links from last week’s party!
Here is some quilty inspiration shared last week!

Now it’s your turn to link up projects you’re working on!
As stated earlier, I did manage to locate one beautiful fabric shop not too far from where we were staying and paid them a visit. I was thrilled to find some Island Batik fabrics, especially blenders, and had to pick up a few, along with some other goodies. Here are some photos of the shop (Block Therapy Quilt Shop) in Gautier, MS, and a beach photo as well as a seagull that was sitting on our car waiting for some food!! Check out their website. They ship!!

I hope your knee feels better very soon!!! I’ll be praying!
Gosh! I hate that about your knee. I’ve had one replacement, but now I have issues in my hip, back, and hands. I use some roll on creams to help. Have you tried the Aleve roll on? The one I got has the roller balls which makes it so easy to apply. I also found one called “Stop Pain”. They both help for a while and especially at night.
I hope you get better soon so you can enjoy your sewing!
Hope that knee is back to normal quickly. I’m glad it happened AFTER the beach vacation, and not before. That quilt shop looks like it was a great stop.
so sorry about your knee – that really puts a damper on things!! Hope you can get it mended soon
that quilt shop looks lovely – and maybe even a little dangerous haha
That quilt shop looks so nice …. part of my sentiments might be there are no local quilt shops near me. But there are several an hour south and some an hour north although I seldom go north due to traffic issues! Take care of that knee. Hope you can get a computer replacement soon. Of course, then you have to figure out all the new bells and whistles. Sigh.
I hope your knee gets back to normal, Brenda. Sending prayers. The beach photo looks amazing–white sand, no people!
Oof on the knee, hope it gets better soon! Love the inside photos of that shop with the high ceilings and logs. Looks like you had a wonderful vacay in spite of the knee. Take care!
I hope your knee recovers soon, I mean you have things to do right!
Rest a lot Brenda! Knee pain is no fun! Be thankful nothing broke. When I fell earlier this year and landed on my knees, I was so thankful nothing was broken. Good time to do handwork in a comfy chair or spend time getting ideas from Pinterest, magazines, etc. Hugs!!!
Hi Brenda, Sounds like you found some goodies at the quilt shop to buy! I will be looking forward to all of the things you will make with your new buys. Thanks for sharing all of the beautiful quilt pictures! Hope your knee feels gets better soon!
I am so sorry to hear about the injury to your knee, Brenda. Hopefully, the RIE treatment and the rest will put you on the mend soon. I am glad you had a great time on vacation otherwise. The quilt shop looks delightful and the sea gull – how funny. Take care. Hugs
