Monday Musings 8/10/26

by | Aug 10, 2026 | 12 comments

Happy Monday morning everyone. Welcome to Monday Musings. We are in the typical August “dog days of summer” here in the south. Hot, humid, with pop up storms just about every afternoon! I hope you are all saying cool/warm, depending on where you are. Did you do a lot of stitching last week? Now, let’s move on to the good stuff!!

Here’s how my story ended for the week of 8/3/26- 8/9/26:

  • Continue working on Heather! DONE!! I’m not quite finished with her, though I am on the last part. There is a new flower stitch I’m working on and will be sharing Heather next week. I had to get some cookie pop sticks or BBQ skewers for this and we picked them up after church yesterday at Michael’s.
  • Sew Day on Wednesday. DONE!! We worked on some blocks for SafeHouse of Shelby county, who put out a call for quilt blocks as they are making quilts for those who need them. I gathered all my orphan blocks and then many more were made during our sew day and were carried to SafeHouse on Thursday.
  • Work on stockings. DONE!! One partly completed and have good ideas for the other one!
  • Maybe start my ByAnnie’s carrying bag for Little Princess. NOPE! I didn’t get started on it, though I took a good look at the pattern and will hopefully begin on it this week.
  • Connie’s blog hop begins tomorrow. DONE!! Here is my project, as well as my new quilt with her signature fabrics. You can read more in my previous post if you missed it.

  • Whatever suits my fancy!! DONE!! MD appointment on Friday and my doc was very pleased as my Hgb A1C has gone from 5.9 to 5.4, which is in the normal range! She was also very pleased with my 35 lb weight loss! YAY ME!!

Plans for the week of 8/10- 8/16/26:

  • Finish stitching on Heather and hopefully begin Belle!
  • Jennifer from Curlicue Creations’ blog hop is this week. My day is Thursday and I will have a new pattern release for it! I love her new signature collection…especially the name of it!! The schedule will be below.
  • Continue working on stockings.
  • Hopefully get started quilting the fabric for my Stitcher’s Suitcase for Little Princess.
  • Little Princess is ready to be picked up today from her spa treatment. I’m anxious to get her back and play with her some more.
  • Begin cutting and stitching my blocks for the new Marigod Mystery at Meadow Mist Designs. Check it out HERE.
  • Whatever cranks my tractor!

We must lead similar lives: Dr apt for me, too, yesterday with similar experiences and outcomes. We have to consider this like we do our quilt projects and take pride in our work. A hearty congratulations! Nice to see all your quilt projects finished and ideas coming to completion. A lovely post!

Good for you losing that weight. And kudos on the test results too. Nothing like good news to motivate you to keep it up. Those are two cool quilts you are sharing. I’ll have to check back in on Thursday.
