Coffee is my Monday therapist ☕️👩⚕️

Happy Monday morning!!! Welcome to Monday Musings! I hope you have all had a wonderful week. It’s always great to meet up with friends on Mondays and throughout the week, visiting blogs. I’ve had a pretty good week here. The weather has been cooler and actually almost fall-like – at least fall for Alabama! LOL I hope you have had some relief from the heat as well. Now, let’s move on to the good stuff!!
Here’s how my story ended for the week of 8/4- 8/10/25:
- Continue working on Crazy Quilt for September IB challenge. DONE!! I have three rows stitched together and had to order some Steam a Seam to finish it. I was using Floriani’s Applique Wonder 1/2″ tape that I’ve had for YEARS and ran out. Floriani must have quit making it so I went with Steam A Seam II. It’s here today so I can finish up the quilt this week, hopefully.
- Post August’s IB challenge. Come back Wednesday for that! DONE!! Check out the post HERE: It was a fun project!

- Still trying to get that quilt on the frame that needs quilting soon. So I will try again! NOPE!! I’ll try again this week.
- Whatever cranks my tractor! DONE!! Nothing other than a little bit of cleaning in the studio and Wednesday the kiddos came for brunch and spent the day with us. They started back to school on Thursday so it was great to have them visit. They’ve been so busy with summer activities we haven’t seen a lot of them. Our daughter has been asked to supervise the SLP students two evenings a week at the University of Montevallo, so I’ll be helping out with the boys on Mondays and Wednesdays. Tuesdays and Thursdays will be filled with high school swim meets and tennis!
Plans for the week of 8/11- 8/17/25:
- Hopefuly finish the crazy quilt for the September IB challenge.
- Make a backing for the big quilt and get it on the frame hopefully.
- More cleaning and organization in the studio to prepare for the remainder of the IB challenges this year.
- Whatever suits my fancy. We are supposed to have a wet week, so we will see what that brings.

Hi Brenda, it sounds like you had a good, busy week. Our heat warning (not as hot as a wave apparently….could have fooled me!) is over and cooler weather is finally here. That’s why I’m always glad to see August! Your iron decorations are lovely – I’m going there next. 🙂 Looking forward to seeing your crazy quilt!
Enjoy that cooler weather! My son says it’s been cooler down there as well. I’m still laughing about “…whatever cranks my tractor”!! LOL. I gotta use that one.
Happy Monday, Brenda. So glad to hear that it was a little cooler in your neck of the woods. The heat has returned here. I wish your grandkids a wonderful school year. It sounds like you are going to stay busy with pickup and after school activities too. Enjoy every minute of it- they grow up way too fast. Hugs.
Thanks Brenda! Have a great week.

your oliso bag is GREAT! LeeAnna
Your now have a fun iron pouch instead of a plain gray one! Have a great week Brenda!
Um, Brenda, I hate to tell you this but it is August… any chance of getting the August list? 🤣🤣. Good job on getting the crazy quilt done. I have a really strange antique one I’ll share one of these days. Hope you get the next top on the long arm and get it quilted. Have a quilty week.
That is my August list, Bonnie!! Hey, I’m ahead of the game! Woohoo!! I know that is highly unusual for me to not wait until the last minute. I posted my August IB project last week! It was the iron cover! Have a great week. I look forward to seeing you strange antique quilt!
Sounds like you will be busy with the grands, what fun!
