Just reminding everyone that it’s Monday, just in case any of you were feeling overly optimistic.

Happy Monday morning everyone!!! Welcome to Monday Musings! I hope you had a great week. I feel kind of like that kitty in the meme above. UGH! As I type, I am still having to use my laptop, which is not my favorite thing to do since my desktop just up and died. Unfortunately, my precious son-in-love was not able to repair it, SO I ordered a new one that SHOULD be here today, hopefully. He’s not sure we will be able to copy over all my programs so will have to see about that. Fortunately, this one comes with Windows 365, so I don’t have to worry about my Outlook or other office programs, BUT I still have to download all my documents that are backed up on BackBlaze. Hopefully that won’t take days, but I DO have a lot of documents. Thankfully, they are backed up! OK, ’nuff whining! Let’s start this new week! On to the fun stuff!
Here’s how my story ended for the week of 7/29- 8/4/24:
- Continue working on September IB challenge. I have the applique for one large block printed on freezer paper and ready to begin. DONE!! I have eight blocks completed! Here are a couple of them. Today I will begin the first of four LARGE 20×22″ blocks! I’m having fun with this edge coloring technique!
- Continue with cleaning/organizing the studio and house! Nope! We had the kiddos all week except for a couple of days. Miss M is a sophomore this year and is in dual enrollment, so she had to go Thursday for orientation to the college. Chicken Legs took her, and stayed with her, then took her to work. She also worked on Wednesday. Most of our days were spent feeding and entertaining them! I can’t believe my baby girl is in both high school and college! We did get a few things done around the house, so not a total loss. We had some trees taken down that were dead or too close to the house and they also cleaned up the trees the wind had taken down for us, so that’s good.
- Whatever suits my fancy!! Hopefully get a new computer or drive and get it up and running. Nope! As stated above, it’s a work in progress!
For the week of 8/4 – 8/10/24:
- Clean a little in the studio!
- Continue on with September IB challenge.
- Get new computer UP and running with all my data copied over and redownload programs!
- Whatever suits my fancy!

Hi Brenda, your blocks are amazing! Good luck with your computer issues. Love the meme.
Sorry about the computer issues! I absolutely HATE dinking with that stuff so a few years ago when mine died (Actually I tripped over the cord which yanked it from the port…which is also connected to the entire main section of my laptop. Probably pretty smart on Apple’s part, eh? ). ANYhoo, I flipped a local computer co. like $125 or something and they did it all for me. Tacking that onto the price of a new Macbook wasn’t fun but at that point, I was already in so much so, well, totally worth it!! With tech, I will highly value my time/frustration!
Happy Monday, Brenda and Happy August! I am so sorry you are having computer issues. It is so frustrating when your favorite device goes down. It is so wonderful that you have a dear SIL to help you out with those issues though. Your blocks look fabulous and so cheerful. I hope you have a great week tackling those goals. Hugs.
Oh I feel ya – Computer issues are my least favorite things to deal with – I sure hope its an easy transistion!
I hope you get the computer issues finally done and everything transfers easily. Can’t wait to hear more about your edge coloring techniques.
Well that was not what I expected for you! So sorry that you were not able to get the disk working and had to order a new machine. Good luck with it all and mostly good luck to the young lady beginning college and continuing high school! WOW!
YUCK to the computer problems. Hopefully you can get the new one set up and working well this week. Cleaning and organizing are not my forte. But, I’ve recently realized I need to re-evaluate my fabric storage and all the “stuff” I have in my studio. It is time to let go of things I never use anymore. It may take months, plus thinking about it time, to see any changes. Hope you can continue to get some actual stitching time in.
Oh Brenda, I feel for you — technology is such a time saver when it’s all working properly, but it’s a huge time sucker-awayer when it’s NOT working. And unplanned tech purchases due to catastrophes are just not as much fun as when you buy something by choice and you’re excited about upgrade features, faster speed, or whatever. I wish you smooth sailing! Thanks for continuing to be our Linky Hostess With the Mostest despite all of your technical difficulties.
Man, when your computer is off kilter, it pretty much wrecks your life, sad but true! Good luck with the new one. I went to a laptop a few years ago, but Hubs still loves his desktop and his huge monitor. Have a great week!
Looking forward to seeing your challenge quilt finished, Brenda.
