I hope you all had a great week. Mine was good and relaxed!! What did I do? For the week of 9/4 – 9/11:
- Stitch binding in place for blog hop on Thursday! DONE!! You can see my post for details, but here is a photo.

- Breathe!!! DONE!! I enjoyed a relaxed week and did not sew one stitch. Now I’m ready to get back to it! Sometimes you just need a break.
- Have a fun sew day with friends. NOPE! I had forgotten about an MD appointment I had on Wednesday, but that’s done!
- Start October Island Batik challenge…at least think about the project! DONE!! As my dear Granny used to say, “I’m studying on it!!”
For the week of 9/11 – 9/16/23:
- Guild meeting Monday (today) – our first of the fiscal year! I will turn in my Sunny Rails a’la Pinwheels quilt to our comfort quilt chairperson.

- Begin October Island Batik Challenge.
- Possibly get a quilt on the frame and begin quilting it. I have a couple of flimsies in need!
- Whatever else suits my fancy!
Here is a recap of our quilty friends’ shares from last week. There were some gorgeous projects linked up! As always if you want to learn more, check last week’s post for the links!
Now it’s time to share your quilty, fun adventures with everyone!
On a somber note, those of us in the USA remember the horrible events of 9/11/01. There is a lot I could say about this that many do not know, but the important thing is that we never forget those who lost their lives when those towers fell, as well as those who have suffered in the aftermath of this tragedy.

Thanks for joining in the fun today. I hope you all have a wonderful, quilty week! Until next time…
Happy Quilting!
Brenda

Good job on taking a week off!! It’s just what we need sometimes isn’t it! Love your finished quilts! Thanks for joining in on Monday This and That! xx
Your IB challenge quilt turned out amazing, Brenda and Sunny Rails is so cheerful and beautiful . Have a wonderful and productive week as you plan for October’s quilt. Hugs.
I’m glad your week was relaxing. You’re right, we all need a break and there is nothing wrong with that. 🙂 I’ll be making a mini quilt today to commemorate the events of 9/11/01. Blessings, M
Both quilts are beautiful Brenda.
Your Blog Hop Quilt is Gorgeous!!! those stars are so beautiful!!!
i think I would like your Granny!!!
Happy Monday! Hooray for the gorgeous quilt going to your guild. Laughed at Granny’s saying…and good news you are onto October already. It is nice to keep things moving along.
Good morning, Brenda! Thank you so much for the linky party today. I just LOVE that quote you shared today from Maya Angelou. It sure is spot on, and that’s a fun quote from your dear Granny. Do you find yourself saying that? I know I’ve picked up something my Mom used to say all the time. Sunny Rails is such a pretty and happy-looking quilt. Your guild will be happy to receive it and enjoy the meeting. Happy Monday to you. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
I so love your Sunny Rails a’la Pinwheels quilt – I even saved a photo of it for inspiration!
Last night there was a 9/11 special on TV and as I always am, I was transfixed as if I’d never seen those horrifying tapes before. It’s amazing how quickly I am brought back to the instant I realized what was happening. I hope our nation never forgets.
Your Sunny Rails is a perfect way to beat the Monday Blues.
October challenge is a toughie with a million pieces per block. I hope the destination is worth the journey.
It is going to be a long week. UGH!
