Welcome back to the Stay at Home Round Robin! This week’s prompt is provided by Wendy of Pieceful Thoughts of my Quilting Life! The prompt for this week is sliced square with insert(s)! Make your blocks and slices however you choose and link up on Wendy’s blog HERE.

I decided to make a plus or cross block, and I just had to use some more of that beautiful turquoise fabric. My sliced plus blocks measure 4″ finished. To make these first I cut 4-1/2″ squares of Island Batik white for the background, then sliced them in half vertically. Next I cut a 1-1/2″ strip of turqouise and chain pieced one of the sliced stacks onto it. After I trimmed those, I stitched the second sliced half to make a complete block. Next, I sliced those blocks in half horizontally, added the turquoise strip, in the same fashion as the vertical stripe, and stitched the lower half of the sliced block onto the upper strip to make the plus. Next I trimmed those to 4-1/2″ for my unfinished size. Some are a little off center, but that’s OK with me! Here is the photo of these blocks added to my SAHRR.
Here is my happy little quilt to this point!!

Now, decide how you will interpret this round and go link up with Wendy, as she is hosting the linky party for this week! Remember you interpret each prompt and it’s placement as YOU see fit! There are no quilting/designing police in this SAHRR!! Some of my blocks will be four inches and some will be other sizes. It’s all up to you! Make one block or make a row, or even a border – or four!
Visit each of the co-hosts and take a look at their interpretations of this round.

Don’t forget the prizes!!
We reached out to several companies that we all LOVE and many of them agreed to sponsor the SAHRR 2024!!! We will keep track of all of the participants that link to our Linky parties each week. We will make a list and use a random number generator to choose the winners for each prize! So, if you link up to 3 Linky parties, you will have 3 opportunities to win! If you don’t have a blog or Instagram account, contact me, or one of the other co-hosts and we will post your SAHRR on our blog. This way you still have an opportunity to win!
I’ll be linking up with Gail at Quilting Gail for this round. See you there!! Until next time…

It is fun seeing the varying interpretations of the prompts for the SAHRR quilt. One of these years, I will actually participate 🙂
What a fun way to do the slice and insert blocks! I really like how you repeated the color from a few rounds ago.
I enjoyed your slice blocks. I cut outlast night and sewed up and attached to my quilt today. The maths was a bit hard for me but I decided to cut out bigger and then trim down to 6.5 unfinished.
Thanks for the fun.
I was so curious to see how you would use this round. The plus blocks are a perfect addition!
Wonderful! I love how this is growing week by week 🙂
Your SAHRR will be great! Love to see how it grows
The turquoise is perfect!!! I like your interpretation of the prompt! 🙂
That turquoise sure is gorgeous Brenda. I’m loving seeing this grow!
I love your plus signs – I forgot all about them as a possibility. Your quilt is shaping up nicely.
I love plus blocks, and yours look perfect in your SAHRR!
