SAHRR 2026 – the Beginning!

by | Jan 14, 2026 | 24 comments

Welcome to my first post for the 2026 Stay At Home Round Robin! If you would like additional information, please see my Monday Musings Post.

The prompt for today is to choose your center block. It can be any size you like – even an orphan block (or two!!) After changing my mind a few times while I was going through a cleanup in search of my “binding bag,” I decided to use an orphan block for the center block this year. This block is 12″ square. I will probably make the remainder of my blocks 4 to 6 inches, to keep this quilt “kinda” small, and will use scraps from previous Island Batik projects. This is a foundation pieced block and was part of a project I made for Electric Quilt, introducing one of their new EQ add-ons.

Once you decide on your center block, you are done for this week! Write your post, or snap an instagram pic, and head over to GAIL’s BLOG for the linky party.

Next, visit each of the co-hosts and take a look at their center blocks. Here is the schedule and links to all the co-host blogs!

We reached out to several companies that we all LOVE and many of them agreed to sponsor the SAHRR 2026!!! We will keep track of all of the participants that link to our Linky parties each week. We will make a list and use a random number generator to choose the winners for each prize! So, if you link up to 3 Linky parties, you will have 3 opportunities to win! If you don’t have a blog or Instagram account, contact me, or one of the other co-hosts and we will post your SAHRR on our blog. This way you still have an opportunity to win! Here are some of the prizes you could win!

Now it’s time to head over to Gail’s Blog and link up so you will be eligible for the prizes! Thanks for joining us. I will see you next week!

This will be an amazing SAHRR year! So much wonderfull centers! Full of colours that have power. We need some motivation in this grey time of the year.. rainy, grey, foggy and.. January… but the SAHRR helps to come out of the winter depression. Your center is a good hidden beauty. Good you searched and deep dive into your drawers!

What a beautiful block! It looks like the aperture of a camera about to close and take a picture of that center star. 🙂

WOW, Brenda that is one gorgeous orphan block for the center of you quilt. I love everything about it, the design, the colors, the movement. Looking forward to seeing how your quilt progresses and what the quilt looks like in the end.
